I personally think that praise can be enough and that "prizes" should be saved for later ages or when you think you're child isn't "getting it" but should. That is just my opinion though. Also in our house we avoid food as reward. Could you make him a chart and give him stickers?
And YAY for P! Awesome! Are they actively working on it at daycare?

Yes, they are working on it at daycare and they also get "potty prizes" (stickers, etc.), so it would be too hard to not offer him one at home if he is getting them at school.

Ah yes, consistency would be good then. at school do they just give them stickers to stick where ever they want or do they put them on a chart?

Well - when we are actually DOING it, we have a sticker chart and a "Potty Treasure Chest full of Loot". If he goes poo - he gets to pick something immediately from the Loot Chest. If he goes pee-pee, he gets a sticker. He gets a bigger sticker if he asks to go pee-pee vs me asking him. (Kind of confusing...)
