DS will get an ornament every year too. I did growing up and now my tree is full of them. I love it.
We will always ALWAYS spend Christmas morning just the 3 of us at our own house. No going to Grandmothers houses until later in the day. Waking up on Christmas morning in your own bed after Santa has visited is a special thing.
We never had gifts under the tree until "santa" came. When I got older, my mom and I kept this up for my brothers (dad passed away). We would wait until they were asleep, mom would make us hot chocolate, we would wrap all the gifts, and sneak them under the tree. It would be late as hell but sooo much fun to have that time with my mom. Even now that I'm 27 and my brothers are 19/20, we still do this. It's funny because when we're at my mom's house you hear doors opening and closing at like 3am while everyone rushes out to put their gifts to others under the tree lol
So I'll do that with DD.
Also, Christmas Eve was always hot chocolate, grilled cheese, and Christmas cartoons.
we will read the night before Christmas before bed on Christmas Eve
ornament and pjs every year
leave cookies and milk for santa and carrots and water for the reindeer.
I will make monkey bread every Christmas morning.
stockings will be opened first(mh's family opens them last)
All of this EXACTLY, but I don't know what monkey bread is. Care to share?
Yes! first let me say, Addison Lily was a top contender for our girl names - we decided finally on Addison Brielle though - so great name choice! )
Monkey Bread (pull apart)
4 cans refrigerator biscuits (about 40) 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon 1/2 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup pecans, raisins and/or coconut, if desired
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Pour sugar and cinnamon into a plastic bag and mix.
Add biscuit pieces, several at a time; shake to coat well.
Place pieces in a buttered tube or Bundt pan until all are used.
Sprinkle layers with nuts, raisins or coconut.
Bring brown sugar and butter to a boil in saucepan. Cool 10 minutes, then pour over top of biscuits.
Bake at 350?F for 45 minutes. Allow to cool 15 minutes before removing from pan. Turn upside down to serve.
Leave cookies and milk out for santa and reindeer food
a stocking in his room with little gifts for him to open in the morning (my mom did this and I loved waking up in the middle of the night seeing the stuffed stocking because then I knew santa had come)
?Breakfast christmas morning with mine and DH's parents at our house so they can see all of DS's gifts and toys from Santa
The day after Christmas we go to a local nursery that becomes a huge Christmas store and shop for ornaments and things for the next year?

We put our tree up the day after thanksgiving, I am off that day so it works out well. I usually try to get christmas cards addressed that day as well.
We get an ornament from hallmark every year.
Leave cookies and milk out for Santa on Christmas Eve.
We do the ornament every year, except we will let him choose his ornament. Then when he is older and moves out he can take them for his own tree. This year he obviously can't choose one so we're getting a baby's first Christmas one.
We are going to read The Night Before Christmas every year--we don't own a copy so that will be one of his gifts this year.
We choose a charity to donate to. We usually do Operation Christmas Child (shoeboxes filled with toys and school supplies for kids in developing countries), but this year we are doing the Shoes for Christmas project (10 pairs of shoes for kids in developing countries for $36), and we are REALLY excited for when Moses is older because we are going to have him research and choose the charity each year. Next year we'll have him pick out a toy to donate to a toy drive.
We are also going to do a Birthday Cake for Jesus and sing Happy Birthday. (We do that at church every year and it's so fun!)
Traditions I will continue from when I was little:
-The family makes an ornament together.
-Get new jammies every year on Christmas Eve.
-Watch Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Rudolph on Christmas Eve (after baby is in bed, DH and I will continue our own tradition of It's A Wonderful Life.
-Bake cookies or small cakes for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve (DH loves cake and I'm not one for sweets. Might as well make it a win win situation!)

We do something similar. We work at the local food bank for lunch on Christmas Day and every year choose a child from the Angel Tree. This year, we'll choose a baby close to DS's age. When he's old enough, he'll help us pick the child and pick the toys and clothes for the child, while understanding that he's giving up a toy of his own to do so. DH and I take money we would spend on each other to do this every year.

We do pajamas on Christmas Eve because I did it as a child.
We bake cookies for Santa and DD gets to pick what kind.
We all get an ornament every year and we pick out the one we want.
Also, we adopt from the Angel tree every year and let DD pick what she wants to buy for the presents. I think it is nice to teach giving during that time of year.
We do the tree right after Thanksgiving. DD and DH share a tree and I have a tree that is separate. We all help decorate both.
We go shopping the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Keeping with my family tradition: DD will be getting an ornament every year. We never opened anything on xmas eve but DH did so...she will get to open one gift every xmas eve in addition to her new pj's and ornament (which my DH hates the idea of pj's and ornament because he said he could care less about that stuff as a kid but my bro and I loved that as kids) so our compromise is one gift plus the new jammies and ornament. We also always read the Night Before Xmas on xmas eve so I will do that too.
We will leave cookies and milk for Santa and open stockings first in the morning and rest of gifts as our new family of 3. Afternoon time will be with the rest of our families, we are fortunate that we all spent each holiday together to avoid going to 2 different houses.
I plan on doing holiday decorating during thanksgiving weekend and we plan on going to church for xmas eve service as well.
Re: Keeping w/ Christmas, what traditions will you start or continue?
We always got an ornament every year - I was never too into that.
I want to start giving DS a pair of Christmas PJs for him to open and wear every Christmas Eve.
we will decorate and put up tree on black friday

We buy a new ornament every year.

Buying a movie every year and watching it on Xmas day
All the same as you...except we don't have "The Night Before Christmas" book yet...guess I should look into that!
