BF Mamas of LOs with Teeth!

DD has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on bottom. The four on top all came in at once and now they're getting pretty big.  I noticed that BF'ing has become painful recently (mainly just the initial latch) but it's enough that my breasts are sore all the time. She's not biting me, but I think her teeth are just there and rubbing.  Anyone else experience this? Anything I can do about it?

    Yes, whenever my son got new teeth or was having some painful teething issues, it seemed like he would bite or scrape his teeth on me.  He would eventually stop the behavior on his own when the pain simmered down or when he got used to the new teeth.  Meanwhile, I would suggest using Lansinoh to ease your discomfort.  Good luck!

    A couple of people tell me that if the latch is right you won't feel the teeth - I think they are full of crap.

    I feel the teeth on my sons as they nurse.  The first couple of minutes are a bit uncomfortable to say the least.  It seems that once they get into a rhythm I don't feel it as much.

    I also found that the last nurse of the night is the worst and I can feel it even more.

    My boys are almost 10 months old and I am about done.  My DD didn't get teeth until almost a year old and by the time she had enough to cause any damage we were done nursing.

    If the latch is right, you should not feel any teeth.  Try adjusting your nursing position.  I find that I can feel teeth is DS is pulling on my nipple, this usually means he is too far from my breast.

    They tandem BF and I do it via the football hold.

    I won't nurse them separtly because it is just way to much.

    I have tried to adjust them, move them I have tried everything - nothing works.

    It does seem like DD is trying to move her face further away from my breast when she nurses now, I try to push her closer, but she will resist! I'm not sure why, she clearly wants to nurse, she just has a shallower latch. 

     But I've also noted that it hurts to pump now too, and I don't know why..
