We have two cats. Jackson is the handsome boy with the white markings on his face in my avatar. Kayla's the little tabby in my siggy pic (that's baby Jack behind her getting ready to attack). Our min pin, Hannah, passed away in November but I refuse to take her picture out of my siggy. She was the sweetest, best dog ever.
Kayla's a lap cat who loves everyone but can be kind of hateful, and Jack's completely neurotic and scared of almost everyone except me (he likes a couple of my friends, but he's very selective). He loooooves me to pieces though.
We also have an aquarium (I can't remember how many gallons it is, but it's big) with four fish - a yellow tang, coral beauty, a goby firefish, and a watchman goby. And a bunch of crabs. We had 8 fish but following the purchase of our latest, 4 died in the period of a couple of weeks. I'm theorizing that there was something wrong with that fish and it infected half the tank. I get heartbroken when the fish die; I prefer hardier pets. Kayla likes to watch the tank for long periods of time, and we have a barstool by the tank for that purpose.
Tell me about your pets.
Re: I'm so bored. Tell me about your pets.
my pets are all @assholes and are on my sh!t list until further notice.
sorry. that's not what you asked. I have 4 cats, 1 dog and 5 fish and at this point? I'm ready to call animal control and tell them someone dumped all these pets at my house and have them come take them away because they are destroying EVERYTHING for no effing reason.
Okay, I really dont' want them taken away, I love them to death but I could really use some time apart from the little fvcks
This is Tuck:
Half German Shepherd, half Collie. She was found in a dumpster when she was only 12 weeks old with no littermates or mother. She's 3 1/2 years old now & we're finally starting to see some maturity.
She's a sassy broad. But I love her. She's a good jogging partner & very smart.
DH got me a rescue dog in my 5th month of pregnancy after being let go from my job I was really depressed and lonely at home while DH was at work. So we agreed that I could get Belle on a trial basis. But we fell in love with her, and she is our princess! She loves loves loves to snuggle up on the couch, and everymorning before DH goes to work he crawls in bed with us and snuggles for a few minutes we call it "family snuggle time" She loves wearing clothes, and likes to have her bath and blow dry everyother week, and if she wants to go somewhere she goes and sits in her carseat and waits for us to get the hint.
Best addition to our family we could have asked for, next to our little boy of course.
My dogs are being jerks right now and barking at the construction workers in our neighbors yard.
But they're cute as hell.
We have a black labrador, he is about 135 lbs, named Zuess, he is about 6 years old.
We also have an American Bulldog/Pit mix named Athena. She is almost 3 years old!
We just moved to our new house and dont have a fence yet so they are at my ILs house. :-(
We have a 5 yr old Maltese named Barbie. I named her that because my DH (BF at the time) bought her for me and his name is Ken. So I have my Ken and Barbie.
She is a totally sweet dog and has been a huge part of our lives. Shes a total princess and sleeps with us in our bed and has way to many toys for one dog.
Shes bark likes its no ones business tho so Im hoping she doesnt annoy the sh*t out of me once the baby gets here.
Oh, I understand that. Kayla's decided that the recliner in our bedroom is her new fave scratching post. Jackson has, since we got him in 2006, had problems with thinking that it's perfectly ok to pee in places that are not so much the litterbox.
And a few weeks ago they demolished the door on our screened-in porch - to the point that my husband said screw it and just bought a new door.
I have a dog named Layla (that's where my screen name comes from). Yes, she was named after the Derek and the Domino's song. I get asked that a lot...
She's an almost 3 year old, 65 pound yellow lab. She's crazy but SO loveable and just wants to be around her "people" (me and DH). She's the best and is definitely our "first born."
I love talking about my pup! Good post!
This is our baby Mister Maigi
He is absolutely spoiled rotten, but such a lover boy! We also have a 1 year old lab mix and a 9 year old, fat and sassy house cat but I don't have pictures of them here with me at work.
We have a Westie named Hero. He is a year and a half old and full of energy. He is probably the sweetest dog in the world, he just gets in trouble to jumping on people too much. He has so much love to give!
We also have two cats, one's name is Bruce Wayne and the other one is Optimus Prime. They are pretty much badasses lol. They like to go in the woods by our house and protect us
All three animals look out for each other and get along really well.
My Roxie is a min-pin/cocker mix and has become quite the snuggle puppy! She's a year and a half and used to be super hyper, but has calmed down a lot the last couple months.
She LOVES to use my belly as a pillow, and when she does, she will bite any hand that touches my belly. I think she's gonna think this new baby is hers to protect!
We also have a kitty named Kitty (or Kitten). Technically, she is named Misti, but I didn't like that name. But since we adopted her from my step-sister, we had to keep the name. So we jsut call her Kitty. She's a cranky 10-year old who loves to sleep on the poker table!
She used to be a snuggle kitty until we got the puppy, but she has gotten a lot braver in the last few weeks and will try and snuggle with us while the puppy is snuggling!
And we have an aquarium with three fishies right now (which reminds me, I need to clean that!).
I have two labs, one yellow and one black (see siggy pic).
My yellow lab is Missy and she thinks all humans were created to pet her. She just doesn't understand when someone doesn't want to pet her. She also is under the impression that she is a lap dog and will attempt to "sneak" into your lap one paw at a time. With that being said, she is a very obedient dog and is always trying to do exactly what she is supposed to do. She is the first one to follow an order and she'll continue to follow the order until I've told her otherwise.
My black lab is Maggie and she could care less whether or not you are petting her unless you are petting her sister (Missy) and then she decides that you need to pay attention to only her and not to Missy. Maggie also wants to sit in your lap, but I think she has doggy ADHD because she is unable to stay still for more than 2 minutes. Maggie is my rebellious child, she always the one to check to make sure that you are actually watching before she obeys a command and if I send them both to their room (kennel) for some reason she is always the first one to sneak out and see if I notice.
I love them both very much and they have no idea what's coming in December!! LOL!
I have two cats that I LOVE to pieces! ?Timmy is a girl, but we thought she was a boy when we brought her home. ?She is an orange tabby and a total lap cat-snuggle bug. ?She loves to sleep under the blankets with us-in fact she is still there. ?She is very spiteful though and will poop on the floor when we go on vacation-I am scared of what will happen when the baby comes. ?
My other cat is Lulu and she is all black and afraid of everything. ?She likes to be pet on her terms, but will get up and walk just out of arms reach if she isn't into it and licks everything, including plastic bags. ?Every night at bedtime she comes in and says good night then goes to sleep on the glider in the nursery. ?
Both of them are toilet trained and I haven't had a litter box in 7+ years. ??
I have a Chihuahua that I love more than is probably healthy or sane...a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, he's my avatar actually. The rabbit is pretty chill, he just likes to hang out in my lap, which makes the Chi mad and the only thing he can think to do is sit on the rabbit...and the rabbit never moves. DH and I have a "shared" pet which is a thankfully still itty-bitty turtle. And DH has a Boxer-Lab mix. She unfortunately lives in the garage/back yard because she is insane, but she is definitely a heck of a lot happier in her own space.
thanks
It's the EARS. they get me every time.

Pets are always the best conversation starter.
I have a cat, Sara, that is one of the (many) reasons we won't bedshare with LO. The cat manages to take up half of the king sized bed, no room for another addition. She's been my baby for the last 12 years and will always be my first baby.
well first let me tell you to watch out for your yellow tang! that may be the cause of the death of the other 4 fish. My FIL has a 500 gallon salt tank and FINALLY got rid of the yellow tang who was such a ***! We gave him back to the original fish place that he came from because he would terrorize and kill everyone. FIL also has a coral beauty which seems to fair just fine, and a yellow wrasse, and the clowns which all do fine. But we got him a solar wrasse (100$ fish), and 3 other awesome fish which were all killed by the tang in about 1 day!! Not cool!! Oooh I'd recommend a panther grouper for you, we got one, named him Harley (since he looks like a harlequin great dane) and he's sooo cool! They can grow to be about 30 inches and will start to eat all of the other fish but obviously that takes a LONG time. We bought the grouper for him about a year ago he was maybe 2" long and now is about 3" long or so. He adds a whole other dimension to the tank and is very friendly and happy go lucky.
Anyway, my pets.... 3 labs. 2 black, 1 chocolate. They are a handful and I love them to pieces. We have our black female, Shelby then our chocolate male, Kane. When Kane was 10 mos old he apparently was old enough to mount Shelby and surprise we ended up with 10 puppies!! (I was stupid enough to think that he was too little to do this but I was wrong!!) And this is where our 3rd came from, our youngest black male Diesel, one of the puppies. They're hilarious and keep me busy just like toddlers... Can't wait to see how they handle the newest addition, it's going to be hysterical!
Momma Maven In The Making!
OH yea, here's the kids.... they look so innocent don't they! little shits
Momma Maven In The Making!
We have a 1 yr old Cairn Terrier who was rescued from a puppy mill at 8 weeks with his brothers & sisters. He's a high strung lunatic but such a sweet dog. He LOOVES people and gets very excited when guests come over. He loves to play with other dogs but don't ever let a cat cross his path because he goes nuts!
We also have a Cockatiel named Stewart E. Bear, Esq. (yes, he's a lawyer). He's a real pain in the butt and only wants to be with his momma. When I used to work out at home (pre-preg) he would do some of the "moves" with me (wings high up, feet moving side to side). He knows the theme to Family Guy and Superman and will whistle the song New York, NY. He loves to get belly rubs and watch our Gourami swim in his aquarium.
Finally our Dwarf Gourami--Jaws. He is HUGE and has killed every single fish we've ever put in his aquarium. He's a loner and prefers to be on his own. We've tried putting other Dwarfs in the aquarium with him but they all eventually die because he will hunt them down.
OMG, our's does the same thing! We have a 95lb shelter dog, he's a german shepherd/husky mix and is all tan. We got him when he was 3-4 so he's probably 8 or 9 now and he likes to sleep outside and "guard" the house most nights (we have a dog door but he chooses to be out there!). But in the morning he comes running in and jumps into bed with us and he finds where my legs are and spoons himself into me. We call it the "snuggle train" and DH has been telling my belly for months he can't wait for her to be born so she can come snuggle with us too
Nala... she is now 9. We rescued her from "kitty death row" as we like to call it when she was 1 1/2. You know the cages right in the front of the shelter where they put the animals that are wearing out their welcome (aka... ready to be put to sleep), that's where she was. When we saw her she was the sweetest thing ever and looked so sad after being in a cage for 2 months. Little did we know that she is a little ankle biter who will yell at you for days if you don't give her a piece of bacon when you make it, but we love her anyway. Seriously... she is really our first child and DH's best buddy. I know she's going to be the type who is super jealous of the baby though (she doesn't like any strangers who come into the house), so I'm a little worried.
Ashley is our little monkey... she's a beagle, about 4 years old (not totally sure, she's a rescue). She is honestly the cutest dog ever, and so funny. She has such a personality and really makes us laugh. She also sleeps about 20 hours a day - she has her early morning nap, late morning nap, noon nap, etc. She even picks up and rearranges herself for the next one.
Here is my mini schnauzer. He is almost 3 and a bundle of energy but we love him to death. He may be the most spoiled dog ever, but how can you resist that face?
I have 3 pets:
Zoe - A 5 yr old pure breed brindle boxer. She is hyper and playful and LOVES, LOVES people and kids. She is dog aggressive but I am trying to work with her on that. We bought her in Italy for 700 Euro from a breeder there. She loves balls and toys and seriously becomes OCD when she sees one, she can't even see anything else around her when she sees a ball. I love how she can look so stoic and scary but she is the sweetest and most playful breed out there. I fear so many other dog breeds than a boxer. I am vet tech so I rather deal with a boxer any day than a chihuahua!
Winston: a 3 yr old pug I adopted from a pug rescue about 2 yrs ago is seriously neurotic wimp. He has so many issues but I love him! He is scared of walking over anything metal or anything weird on the sidewalk. He is a marker and pees on Zoe right after she has peed and marks everything that is Zoe's. Since he pees in the house I have to be on my toes and know where he is all the time. He was so easy to be submissive to Zoe that the housemate thing has really worked out well. He loves me so much that I think he would marry me if he could! he seriously longs to be with me when I have him in the kitchen gated off from the rest of the house. He rather stay in the house and wait for me to come out of the room or shower than to do dog things. I let him sleep with me at night and he is such a cuddler! sometimes too much. He lays on my blankets and lays right next to my body that you might think we were Siamese twins! Winston is so close that I can move my covers or turn on my back or other side. I had a talk with him this morning and told him that i can't have him sleeping with me anymore. He understood.
I have a cat named Kat....she's had so many stinking names but I never called her anything except cat. So DH came up with the idea to name her Kat spelled with a 'K' for Kathryn! LOL She was my first pet and is 7 yrs old. She is a beautiful Tabby that I got for free when some friends were giving away kittens. She started out being an Indoor/Outdoor cat and then when we moved to Vegas she never left the house....there really is nothing there for her to watch or hunt! Now that I am in Denver I have seen her come alive again! she loves being outside and has ALWAYS, ALWAYS come home to me at night. If I haven't seen her come in I never go to bed without whistling too her. She is rarely out of the yard and always comes when I call her. She is super cuddly as well but loathes the dogs. The dogs are such AW's! I know her sooooo well. I know what each of her meows mean and we are very close. She really doesn't like anybody else except me. She isn't mean but she just hides and stays away from them. My husband kind of messed with her a little when we first meet and so she pretty much just ignores him and co-exists with him and the dogs. My DH hated all the cat hair until we got the dogs...now he sees the cat is sooooooooooo easy to take care of.
i have sharpei, hopefully I will be able to insert the pic
Now, I've never seen the yellow tang attack the other fish. What happened is I got a green mandarin for him for his birthday on a Sunday. By Tuesday the thing died. He took it out of the tank. Then a couple of days later, we noticed our blue tang acting really strange - like it couldn't see. A couple of days after that, I noticed that our blemmy was acting weird. It usually hid under the rocks and just dashed out to grab food, but it was swimming around and its eyes looked weird. It died the next day. The blue tang held on for weeks but eventually died. Our clown fish disappeared - I never saw its body but I'm assuming the crabs ate it.
It's been just horrible. It's my husband's tank, and he's checked all the stuff he's supposed to with the water, the salt and the pH and whatever else. I really just think that mandarin had something bad wrong and infected our other little guys. I hope all that's over with. I'm really sad about the clownfish and the tang - those were the first two fish we got.
We've got 4 cats (Bailey, Decoy, Holly, Moses), and 2 dogs (Bes and Kate, the working Border Collies).
We have a rabbit with no name ("The Bunny"), a black and white angora.
We have 30-something cows and calves (Herefords), 3 horses (one paint pony, one Iberian WB, and one old Appy), and 10 sheep (mostly Corriedale).
And we have a baby
We call her Puppy sometimes!
Here's my girl Roxie:
She's a rescue so I don't know *for sure* what breeds she's made up of, but her coloring (and MAD Frisbee skills) suggest she's part Australian Shepherd. She's 3 years old and is very excited to be a big sister.
This is my little family. Stella is out front, she is 6 1/2 years old and is the queen of the house... she's very good and happy and REALLY laid back and LOVES to sleep under the covers. I adopted her from Petsmart when she was like 10 or so weeks old.
The one in the back is Sadie, she's i think 3 and is a lab, but has a curly tail and bow legs. She is full of mischief and forgets everything a minute after, which is good but bad if you're training her. She SUPER cuddly and thinks she's a small lap dog.
this is my favorite topic!!
duke is our rescue baby! he is 3 1/2 and loves babies and kids and people and everything. except cats and squirrels. he is obsessed with his bandana's and will go get them and bring one to you if he doesn't have one on. he is a lab/shepherd mix and he is all personality. those ears have gotten him attention ever since he was a puppy. enjoy pics of my fur baby!! i love him!
In my siggy is our puppy Penny, well actually she is almost a year old now and still pretty much looks the same, just not as squishy. I would gush over her more, but honestly she adores my DH and could take me or leave me!!
She is being a big brat right now as she finally is on to us with the baby, lol.
I also have a wonderful tabby names Sonya which is the love of my life ; )
