Re: how much milk does your 1 year old take

  • At one year, DD was still drinking 35 oz or so of milk.

  • DD takes some formula, some milk.  I don't know the totals, and it changes everyday (we are working towards all milk from a cup).  I'm more concerned about the whole cup/bottle thing rather than the quantity.

I've heard that 16oz is the max recommended amount of milk, but we're not there yet.   DD was taking about 24 oz of formula up until we started to wean this week.

  • I haven't switched yet but I think that sounds about right.  My pedi told me they don't want them taking more than 20 oz of milk a day.
  • Colin only drinks about 6-8 oz a day of whole milk.  He nurses 2-3 times a day during the week and up to 5 times on the weekend.  Booby monster...
  • At 12 months she was still nursing twice a day and probably drinking anywhere from 12 - 18 ounces of her milk (she drinks goat milk due to an allergy).

Now at almost 14 months I have weaned her from breastfeeding and she drinks around 20 - 24 ounces of milk.  Sometimes more, sometimes less.  She drinks a lot of water and juice during the day too.
