the thing about used books that i hate is...

....so often they don't tell you when they're selling an 'older' edition of a book.  i just got the sears birth book and i swear the picture on the cover looks like it's from the 70's though the cp date in the book says 1994.  but good grief!!  at least i didn't pay too much for them but i'm still annoyed!!!

  • I always double check the ISBN number - that way if you do get an alternate version (and they didn't disclose it) they mis-advertised and you can get your money back.

I've only had to do this once though - seller claimed they didn't see the ISBN (printed in the back cover) and didn't "notice" that they were selling a paperback under a cardcover ISBN number.  This was for a textbook so the price differential for what they were selling vs what they said they were selling was signnificant.

oh is this something i can check on amazon?  it was through amazon used books.. not sure if i can contact the seller to return it..i've never really run into this there before unfortunately.. sigh.  there was def no mention of it in the description though - it said "good used condition, slight cover wear"
