Shooting pain up crotch...

in 3rd Trimester
Anyone else getting this? It only happens every once in awhile but it stops me dead in my tracks. Makes me feel like I have to tighten up, like holding your pee or something. The pain goes straight up and then is dissipate in the lower belly area. It lasts maybe 10 secs. I have an appt today and will ask about it but just wondering if anyone else has felt this.

    Yea i do... The 2nd Tri board said it was called " LIGHTNING CROTCH"

    ?? My dr says it's just the baby's head moving around on the cervix or playing with my nerves.. lol..

    it won't hurt to ask.

    Yea, doc said it was because the baby is growing and constantly pressing on my cervix now.

    I get this pretty much every day now, i guess LO likes to use my cervix as a trampoline! It's ok, my Dr said it was normal and you just have to get use to it, if it really hurts you should get checked out though.

    My doctor told me that it was the baby pushing on the cervix and causing it to thin but not necessarily efface. I think that's where the people on second trimester got the idea of calling it lightning crotch. It never hurts to call your doctor though just in case because sometimes pain like that can be associated with an infection so that should be ruled out first.
