Anyone have a recipe? I've googled and everything I find calls for a Lipton soup mix, or cream of something, or gravy mix... you get the idea. I'm thinking just add onions, red wine, garlic, some herbs and carrots and potatoes and throw it all in there....
Re: slow cooker - pot roast?
There's a good one here.

I just toss a bunch of things in a pot:
onions, red wine, garlic, rosemary, salt, pepper, and sometimes I'll put some beef stock in there too (we had a bunch of soup bones that I used to make stock with)... carrots, potatoes, turnips etc would be really yummy in there too
I think that is what I'll do. I'm going to just brown my meat and throw it all in there... we'll see, though, I'm wondering if I should put it in the crock pot or in my dutch oven in the real oven for a few hours... I might just wait and do it in the dutch oven later on because then I can do the vegetables for soup at the same time.
Thanks for the link - the pioneer one was helpful in helping me figure out what order I wanted to do things in and what flavors I wanted to mix.
