Pregnant after a Loss

So my boss just called-BIG VENT

She called to tell me that she is coming in but to stay away from her because she is sick as a dog (her exact words). She got this from her boys who got it from their nanny. The nanny tried calling in sick last week and my boss told her to come anyway-I have so many issues with that, I don't know where to start.

Now she is sick and insisting on being here becuase she misses work ALL the time and knows her job is in jeopardy. She sits two doors down and we share all kinds of things like printers, file space etc. I was in her office for about 30 minutes yesterday but washed my hands afterwards-I'm hoping that is enough to ward off the germs. Today I feel like if she won't stay home, that I should work from home. Am I being too paranoid?

  • I HATE it when people come to work sick. Really, trust us, we are ALL on board with you staying home. No one wants what you have.

Wash your hands and use disinfecting wipes. It's the only defense. I'm sorry!

  • I just got over a cold about 2 weeks ago and it took a solid 3 weeks to kick. It was terrible and I still feel run down-I can't believe she's made her sick nanny care for her newborns and made everyone sick. I'm as mad at her parenting as I am for myself. I'll be darned if I have to take a sick day to avoid her!
  • I would be so pissed if I were her nanny!  I can't imagine being legitimately sick, trying to call in and having my boss make me come in anyway.  I'd be looking for a new job if I were that nanny.

  • If you have the ability to work from home (or just go home), I would seriously consider that option.  It's not worth it.  Plus, it's Friday!

  • And...I'm home. She barged in my office just to complain and I took that as an indication it was going to be a long day in the petri dish of germs. So here I am and my feet are up=best decision I've made all day!
