Hi, Ladies!
Please let me know if anyone of you went from ZERO to 60 before 41 weeks. I have nothing going on?nothing. Doc couldn?t even give me ?a finger-tip dilated.? She will induce at 41 weeks, but I have heard rumors there is still a chance that something can happen on its own. Did any of you go into spontaneous labor before 41 weeks and had been told that you had NOTHING going on? Zero? Zilch? Nada? Share your stories! I need to know there is a chance that we may be able to avoid an induction next week.
Re: Need Reassurance (From 3rd-Tri)
At 39 weeks I was 1 cm.
I got to the hospital an hour after I went into labor (40 weeks) and I was 2 cm. I went from 2 cm to 10 in 7 hours. So basically zero to 60. It means nothing.
ME! I was a fingertip at 40 weeks and no signs of even false labor pains...nothing.
Had a NST on Thursday, and was 1/2cm, no contractions and was told I should check the induction schedule for the following week because most likely I would be on it. I woke up Friday, still nothing...5:00pm I started having contractions but they were so spaced out. At 9:00 they were close enough to start timing. We left for the hospital at midnight and was checked and was only 1 cm. They said if I didn't progress within the hour that they would send me home. 45 mins later my water broke and less than 4 hours after that my daughter was born.
Your baby will come when ready. With my older daughter I was at zero then 2 days later I had her. That was at 40 weeks 5 days. With our LO I was 41 weeks 4 days, and when she decided it was time she came quick. Both of them did. So in my experience I was overdue, BUT I had extreeeeeeemely quick deliveries. Maybe you'll be that lucky too.
Its like the Tom Petty song says "The Waiting is the hardest part."
Camryn Grace ~ July 6th, 2009 ~ 7lbs 9oz, 20.5"
Brayden Richard Drew ~ December 20, 2010~7lbs 9oz, 20"
I had no progress, cervix still high and tight and 24 hrs. later my water broke.

I'm going to assume that you understand that "progress" means nothing and that you do not need to induce at 41 weeks barring medical issues, and are simply looking for encouragement. So I'll skip that lecture.
I was fingertip dilated forever and spontaneously went into labor at 40w6d. Vaginally delivered a healthy, averaged sized baby and all that. Canceled my NSTs from the mom & baby ward
YES! This is exactly what I want to hear and this is exactly how the doctor described my situation yesterday. In fact...she had me make two fists and put them under my tail-bone yesterday my cervix was so high. I asked for a % of effacement and station stats...and she said that she couldn't even give me that
I know induction is a very good possibility, and if she let me go past 41 weeks I know baby would eventually come. I know that nobody stays pregnant forever. I'm actually feeling really good, I'm just terrified of going into an induction with a ZERO on the Bishop Score just to have it all end in a C-Section.
Thanks for the stories! Keep em coming...so good to know there is a chance something can happen in the next 8-9 days.
Hi, There.
I actually have a 2-Vessel Umbilical Cord, hence the induction at 41 weeks. The specialist we visited actually recommended delivery at 39 weeks, but my doctor is willing to let me go to 41 weeks if baby continues to pass NSTs with flying colors. And...my doctor also does believe in progress when measuring it against an induction. She told me that inductions starting with zero progress tend to end in a C-Section because as somebody mentioned above...baby is either too large to fit through the birth canal or ends up not tolerating an induced labor. It?s just good to know that there is a chance Mother Nature will work to my advantage and there is a chance we will be able to avoid the mandatory induction next week.
Missed m/c 10/25/10 @ 11.5 weeks
Thanks again for sharing all of your stories. Very encouraging.
Your babies are beautiful!
