Babies: 0 - 3 Months

The mommy group in my area is "full"...

and no longer accepting new moms.  Super lame, since brand new mommies need mommy friends, too.

DH says, "Why don't you start your own Mommy group?"  Good Point!

So... what do people do in mommy groups?

Re: The mommy group in my area is "full"...

  • Full?? That IS super lame!  I dont know what they do. Gossip and load up on coffee? Thats what i would do.

  • Look into mom & baby groups at churches in you area.
  • Pick local parks to meet at, go to local zoo, lunch dates with kids (kid friendly places), stroller walks at local walking trails ...

Also, sometimes just the moms get together for a night 'off' and go have a grown up dinner, go to a show, etc.

  • I'm sure there are plenty of other mommy groups in your area. DC should have a ton.... Just keep looking online and once you find one the moms will tell you about tons of other things. I just started going to mom and baby yoga and I learned about another fun group from that.  It's nice to have other adults to talk to about your LO.  None of my friends have babies so I finally just went to one and I'm so glad I did

  • I would think that the things mommy groups do are:

Go for walks with the strollers

    meet for coffee

meet for events/holidays (boo at the zoo, 4th of july picnic, easter egg hunts)

meet at library for story time

    make playdates at a park

LOL. I kinda' know how you feel. =) Blah. That stinks. Are there any places like Gymboree around your house or anything where you could go for "Mommy & Me" time and then possibly find another group that way?
