Yes it was unloaded but still... at my baby sisters school. That's just a little to close to home for me!
So this happened at my little sisters school...
Student Admits Taking Gun To School
XYJ Junior High Principal said a parent reported Tuesday that her child had seen a student with a gun on Monday.
Forney said they immediately questioned the seventh-grade student who was allegedly seen with the gun. The student admitted to bringing an unloaded pistol to school on Monday.
The gun was not at the school when officials spoke to the student on Tuesday, officials said. Because of that, the district attorney's office did not accept criminal charges against the student.
The school will impose its own disciplinary action, officials said.
Forney sent an e-mail to parents informing them of the incident. He said it wasn't sent by hard-copy because the length of the investigation didn't allow the administration to have the letter ready before students left for the day.
"I ask that you use this incident as a teachable moment with your child to help confirm with them the important role they play in keeping our school safe," he wrote.

Oh WOW! It is scary how much things have changed... I'm glad it was unloaded and that brave child stepped forward!
That is impressive. The kid at that school's parent thought it was funny and "didn't see why everyone was freaking out"...Some people just shouldn't procreate...

Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
It sounds to me that this kids parents need to do two things.
1) Keep the guns in their house locked up properly and
2) Teach their child an appropriate amount of respect for guns. No child who has been properly taught respect for firearms would ever think about taking a gun (even unloaded) into a school.
I'm sure the kid just thought it was cool or something.
