Which brand of solids do you feed LO?

I have heard good things about Earth's Best and Gerber. I see a lot of coupons for both so I am keeping some of each for when I need them.

  • We did Earth's Best and Beechnut (for cereal). But mostly I just made my own. Very easy... https://wholesomebabyfood.com/ is a great resource.

  • We did Gerber because I liked those little resealable tupperware containers that they come in now. It was really handy because DD almost never finished and the lids on those jars just don't go back on easily.
  • We made our own... I second the website wholesomebabyfoods.com

Making the food was easy and I could control what was going in our daughter's food (i.e., no preservatives). We have recently picked up some of the organic food at BRUS for a vacation when I couldn't make my own.  We had mish mash or mash ups (one of those is made by red plum organics, I can't remember who makes the other).

  • We used some of both brands, but not a whole lot honestly.  I hated dealing with purees.  I mashed up food here or just moved on to finger foods pretty quickly.

  • For the first few months I made all her food, then we switched to Earth's Best . I sometimes buy Gerber Organic and Safeway Organic, but mostly EB.

  • We use Earths Best for cereal, but then I make all my own purees.  Really its super easy and was way more affordable than adding baby food to the grocery list every week =)

  • I'm with Jill.  Hate purees.... but we did eb cereal, and a mix of eb and gerber and safeway organics for the jarred stuff, depending on what was on sale and what the flavors were.   Basics like bananas, I mashed myself -- applesauce, I bought a big jar of regular stuff, yogurt, same thing.  If I made sweet potatoes for us, I mashed some or baked an extra one...   and got them on to finger foods asap.  By the time we went to iowa for their baptism in may, they were 9mo and no purees... I think we stopped about 8.5 mo.  I know when they went to daycare the end of april, I just had them feed the kids what others were having, diced up fine with a few exceptions (just stuff I wouldnt feed my baby, like a hot dog, or fish sticks...  now I could care less.  and I have fabulous eaters.)  but at 5-7 mo purees are inevitable...  :)  and messssssyy.... strip him down to nekkid-ness!!  easier to wipe a kid down or toss him in the tub than get squash out of clothes (even with a bib on) -- and you've seen my fb pics of the twins!
