Maybe it's just me, but I pronounce Noel as "nowl", probably because I know of a guy with this name/pronunciation. Are you pronouncing it the same as Noelle?
Since I'm not too familiar with this name, I went and searched on babynamesworld.com. It says it should have the diaresis over the "e" to be pronounced "no-el". And then goes on to say ...In English masculine usage, the diaresis is usually dropped, and the name is pronounced "nowl."

Me too. I know a Noel (pronouced, Nole)
HA! Maybe "Nole" was a better way to spell that pronunciation out than "Nowl" The Noel I know is very country, so that is what came to mind first.
I love the name, as long as it is spelled Noelle (definitely more feminine this way). I went to college with a guy named Noel and he pronounced it Nole, like Mole.
Re: WDYT of Noel
I LOVE it, but spelled as Noelle.
I'm not a fan of Noel, it seems too masculine to me.

This. LOVE Noelle.
Thanks ladies. This is how I was thinking about pronouncing it (no-el) so I may have to change the spelling to Noelle.

Noel will not be pronounced as No-elle. It will be said as 'knoll'.
Noelle is a lovely girl's name.
One of my FAVORITE Names
ditto
