  • Haha maybe this would be a better question for 0-6 since everyone here seems to be interested but not know...
  • I bought one of them, but can't remember which! I think it's a Moby. One of my student's moms uses it and her baby looks so comfortable in it.  I found this link, but it only talks about the Moby not the Maya.

     Hope it helps!

  • I've seen videos for both (how to use it and waht not) and I'm totally in love with the Moby! Its on my registry and if no one gets it for me, i'm so buying it for myself. I think its awesome!
  • Try Attachment Parenting for this.

Go here and email customer service.  Ask them the main differences.  They are amazing, they helped me decide between the Sleepy Wrap and the Moby Wrap (went w/the Moby).  I bought an Ergo from them when I first had DD 3 years ago.  They will contact you within 24 hours.

  • FWIW- the maya is more of a sling, and the moby is a wrap.
  • I have and have used both and they are both awesome carriers.

The moby is an all cotton long strip of fabric you use to 'tie' your baby to you. Like the Maya, there are a bunch of different 'carries'. Because of the material and style of the Moby it is perfect for newborns and young babies.

The Maya is also a long strip of fabric, but it has two rings sewn into one end. The Maya can be used for young babies - but my favorite carry with a Maya is the hip carry when baby is old to hold up his own head and is interested in the world. I also found discreetly breastfeeding to be super easy in the Maya but not so much in the

I don't really see them as interchangeable, more that I use a Moby for a newborn and then the Maya when baby wants to face outward or look around.

I would suggest getting a Moby to start. See if baby wearing works for you. Then as baby gets bigger you can move to a Maya wrap or even a Mei Tei. You can get a really reasonably priced Maya Wrap or Maya Mei Tei by buying a discontinued fabric or an unused returned product. I bought both my Maya Wrap and Mei Tei this way and saved a fortune on a perfect product. I also returned a Wrap when I ordered a Med by the size chart, but ended up wanting a large - so that is where the returns come from :) and on that note - order larger. I am 5'6" and 140lbs pp, but am large busted and the warp fit fine but didn't leave me with a whole lot of 'tail' to use when breastfeeding in public.

If you really only want one I would go with the Maya Wrap. It will last longer and is more versitile IMO.
