  I won't be registering until after we find out the gender (20-22 weeks I believe). A lot of people I know have had showers about a month or two before they're due while others have had them around 6 months (usually to accommodate visiting family members, etc.) or even after the baby arrives.

  We plan on registering after we find out sex.  Will probably have shower two months before due date.  I don't know what proper shower ettiqute says.

  i don't know when i will have my shower but i have already started a secret registry so i don't loose track of things i am finding along the way.  I had to do it through amazon because my cousin is registered for her baby shower and we haven't told anyone yet that I am prego...could you imagine if my mom was searching for her and i came up HAHHAAa that would be funny

  we started at 4 months with the big items and then added as the time went on . . when we found out the gender we added some gender specific stuff.  it kept it less overwelming.

  We registered right after the big u/s at 18w4d. My shower was at 32w.

  REgistering usually happens after 20 weeks even if you go Team green so that you have a better chance of items not being discontinued, out of season etc.

  Showers are typically in 3 rd tri. Avg 31 weeks.

  With #1, I registered the same day we found out the gender.  We made a day of it... went to our appt, then out to lunch, then to register.  It was wonderful

  we'll register after we find out what we're having. I'll be having a shower late January, only because it's 6 hours away. Then a second one in early to mid march.
