Crib question...

A friend of mine is having a baby in November, and he brought up an issue they're having with their crib. The sides apparently are too thick for the accessories they've been getting that are supposed to attach to the crib. Here is the crib they have: image

Have any of you had this issue and have some advice?

    Yes, we have had the same problems! Our crib is very similar to the one pictured. Our mobile didn't attach properly but then we didn't use it much anyway. Also, we bought a musical aquarium that had straps to attach to the side and it wouldn't work either. It was a bummer but we made it work. I loved our crib though. Also, I had issues with the bumper ties in the corners because the wood is so thick. It was frustrating at times.

    yes, i've had similar issues.  

    Did you find a way to attach them, or did you just give up on having a mobile, etc? He said the only way he'd be able to attach the mobile they got properly would be to screw it into the crib, and he doesn't want to do that.

    We've had some similar issues...there was no way a mobile was fitting on ours.  So we opted out of a mobile and got one of those machine things that plays music and projects images on the ceiling.  We have it set up on her nightstand because it doesn't attach to the crib.

    Well, the reason our mobile wouldn't properly attach was more bc our side rails are not flat/straight. They curve upward if that makes sense. So there wasn't a flat spot for us to attach it to without it leaning to the side. We got it to work finally but we had to screw it so tightly that it ground into the wood some. In the end the mobile wasn't worth it because we had to wind it up and the music didn't last long. That's when we got the aquarium. Sorry I am not much help.

    There is an attachment you can buy for the mobile which will help it fit.  I know that All About Baby in Hsv has them, but I'm not sure where else you can find them.  It's also supposed to protect the wood from getting scratched.

    We had similar issues. But, we just gave up on having a mobile anyways because people told us it wasn't really a "must have" item anyways.
