Sorry about the TMI - yeast infection

Ok - I can't take it anymore.  I've had a nasty persistent yeast infection since week 5 and I can't get the damn thing to go away.  I've tried baking soda and corn starch soaks, monistat (just on the outside) and it just doesn't seems to be curing it completely.

Does anyone have any home remedies on how to cure this?

Thanks and sorry about the TMI but I figured of all places to ask this question, the bump is the best!

  • I'm pretty sure you can use monistat internally, but I think one of my pregnancy books said you may have to use it longer than normal when PG. I would call your doctor to make sure, though. The only other home remedy I know of that doesn't involve putting something up there is taking a probiotic/eating yogurt.

  • you can use monistat7 internally. use the 7 day, not the 3day.
  • Monistat 7 is perfectly safe during pregnancy.  I had many, many yeast infections when I was pg with DD and I pretty much used Monistat once a month.

If that doesn't work, call your OB.  They should be able to prescribe something.

  • You can use monistat internally. My doctor said to use it. I got the 3 day and I wish I had bought it sooner!
  • The only thing that I swear by and I know works is a antibacterial soap. Now let me tell u. I had a yeast infection so bad just as u did and it was constant, none of the over the counter medicines seemed to work. My sister then told me I needed a antibacterial soap, I was in so much discomfort I tried ANYTHING. The only antibacterial soap that I had in the house was my Dawn dishwashing liquid, I was desperate and really didnt think it would work. So I went to the bathroom took a shower and just put the dawn on my virginia, cleaned her out real good and waited. I swear within 12 hrs its was GONE, no itching, burning, nothing, it was totally cleared up, I washed with it about 3 more times and havent had a yeast infection since and that was 3 yrs ago. Not saying u should try this, just that it worked wonders for me
  • I had a yeast infection right after I ovulated and my Dr (knowing this and knowing I could be pregnant) prescribed me a 1 day pill.  It cleared everything up in a few days and I ended up being pregnant this cycle.  Was this unsafe for my baby?
