How many of your LO's have this and how long until it went away? When did you notice it starting to fade? Our pedi said it could take 4-5 months, but I read online 18 months!?!
ds has one on his forehead and one on the back of his head, which is typically how a stork bite works...the stork putting it's beak over the head causing a mark on the front and back. this is the tale the doctor told us. he said the ones on the face are usually gone by the baby's first birthday, but the ones on the back of the head usually remain.
My son is two and a half and the last time I looked it was still there, it is on the back of his neck just below the hairline, it is definitely lighter but it is still there. DD has one in the same spot but it is too soon to know if it will fade or not.
DS has one at the base of his neck and the pedi said it might fade, or "move up" under his hair, or that he might have it forever. I actually love it and wouldn't mind if it stays put!
DD has one on the back of her leg and on the back of her neck at her hairline - they are both fading, however, my brother had one at birth and it appears when he's drinking!
DD doesn't have any, but DH (who is 25) still has one on his forehead. It isn't visible all the time but it shows up when he gets too hot, or mad, embarassed, etc.
My DD#1 is 6 years old and still has her stork bites. They have faded but are still noticeable.
This DD doesnt have any...she never made it to the birth canal
Neither did mine... stork bites can happen with either a vaginal birth or c-section.
it was my understanding that they are from your bones? My DD was a c-section and she still has them but she dropped down...this DD never did drop down into my pelvis since she was early. Or am I wrong about how they get there?

This. DS has 2 angel kisses and 1 stork bite and I was never in labor. From what I've read, they're not actually caused by birth.
