Anyone eat the Kashi frozen meals for lunch?

I was thinking about getting some of these for lunch this week as I am kinda sick of making salads.  Does anyone know how the sodium is on them?  I am trying to go to their website and it's down.  Anyone feel like these are a good option?

Re: Anyone eat the Kashi frozen meals for lunch?

  • DH lives on them, I used to have them every day when I had a real job. Love love love them. Mayan veggie bake and rosemary chicken are my favs.
  • Loading the player...
  • i've had their pita sandwiches (kinda like hot pockets). they're sooo good! not sure about sodium content though. i wouldn't imagine there being that much, though. most of their stuff is pretty healthy.

  • Website's back up.  Sodium seems relatively low.  Under 500 mg.
  • As I recall, it wasn't as bad as most frozen food, but not great. I love the coconut chicken!!!

For some I should say...looks like some are around 650, still relatively low for a frozen meal.

I have them for lunch at work because the cafeteria sucks. I have those and the Smart Ones meals. Some of them are higher in sodium than others, but I watch my sodium with everything so if I get a little extra it's not such a big deal.

I think they are a great option. They will hold you over until mid afternoon or so, when it's time for a healthy snack.

Yeah and they have a good fiber content!  I eat their bars and love them.  I'm trying to fiber it up as much as I can so I don't have to take colace!

  • I live on the Kashi cereal right now. The fiber is very helpful
  • I like them. I mean, they are not the greatest thing ever, but compared to Lean Cuisines, etc. I think they are pretty darn good. They are a lot more expensive, though, unfortunately.
  • thanks...now i have more options for snacks & meals. i haven't seen these in my grocer's freezer though. are any of you purchasing them from health food stores like whole foods, trader joes, etc? or are you getting them at vons, ralphs...?
  • I love all Kashi stuff.  The only thing I've had that I didn't like was the "hot pocket" type of thing in Veggie Medley.  The other flavors are great, but something about the veggie one wasn't my favorite.

Could just be me and my weird pg tastebuds, though.  Kashi rocks!

  • I really like the lemongrass coconut chicken.  I'm actually going grocery shopping today, maybe now I'll pick one up!

  • I had one today actually.  The sodium is not bad as far as frozen meals go.  We have looked around a lot and the sodium on these and any amy's meals are the best Kashie is cheaper though.  I say go for it
