I know I have asked this before but we have so many new people here. As some of you may know I am a spinning instructor and aerobics instructor. When I was pregnant with my first two I kept on working out like I normally did. the doctors told me to keep on doing what I am doing. With this last pregnancy I stopped spinning and just walked and lifted weights. I saw an RE in August and she said she wanted my heartrate to not go above 120. I was talking with my SIL yesterday and she hasnt had any losses and is pregnant (9 weeks) and she went to her OB/GYN and they told her not to work out just walk.
I am seeing a new RE on wednesday and will be asking him these questions. I just dont think they know whether my losses were caused with me working out and getting my heart rate up to high. why is it some ladies have to rest. How do they really know.
My SIL made me feel like it was my fault. She was saying why work out. why risk it. I said well the drs told me to do what I normally do. She said she read and doctors told her not to workout. Just walk.
I am trying to put these peices together. is there a coiliation to my workouts and my losses. My heart rate gets up very high when I am pregnant and now.

Did you continue to workout when you got pregnant? 1st pg - yes, but not as much because I was so tired and nauseous all the time. 2nd time - not really because I had spotting.

What have your doctors told you about working out and being pregnant after your losses? At my 1st OB appt with my 1st pg my OB said not to get my heart rate up above 140
I did not work out when I got pregnant. I hate working out so I used it as my excuse. I walked a little on the treadmill and outside but not as vigorously as I had before. Occasionally lifted my sissy 5 pound weights when I was feeling guilty about not exercising. My doc actually encouraged me to exercise, but my round ligament pains were too bad so I didn't. I'm guessing my highest heart rate during that time would have been in the 120s.
Don't blame yourself for your losses. Everyone says exercising during pregnancy is not only fine, but good for you and baby. The only time I've heard otherwise is for people with high BPs and those on bedrest for other reasons.

If so, how much? 3-4x a week...running, spinning, etc.
Did you continue to workout when you got pregnant? Yes, but I stopped running and worked out on the Precor elliptical machine instead.
How high would your heart rate go? I kept it under 140.
How many losses did you have? One.
What if any changes will you make when you get pregnant again? I'm not sure, but I can't imagine not exercising and walking isn't my thing. I'll most likely go back to the elliptical and 140HR again.
What have your doctors told you about working out and being pregnant after your losses? One said to keep my heart rate under 140. The other said to do whatever I normally do, but just don't overexert myself.
This is one of my biggest ??s... I plan on having a conversation with my RE on it thi s week.
I work out alot & very hard. My body has held weight & I don't like it. At all. Not sure what to do.

How high would your heart rate go? I tried to keep it below 140 when I was allowed to workout. Since I am conditioned the 120 was so low.

What if any changes will you make when you get pregnant again? Don't know- my doc always tells me that if it's a healthy pregnancy than I should be able to cont my usual routine for the most part. At the same time, I don't want to have any regrets.
