So ladies, my dh is very enthusiastic about becoming a dad. However his name choices are killing me and its only week 6. He has suggested things like Theo, Alosius (?), and today's name of the day is Stacey. Boy or girl doesn't matter. He wants to name our child that so he can go around singing Stacey's mom has got it going on. Flattering but no. Any other dh's out there giving strange suggestions?

Re: DH's choice in names
DH swears he is holding out for the Holden if it's a boy. I don't hate, but I don't love it either.
DD2: Lucia (Lucy) 07/13
My Dh is in charge of a boys name. I have had a girls name (family name) picked out for many years and he agreed that we could use that so I told him he gets to pick out the boys name for fairness but I do get to veto anything too out there.
He and a co-worker came up with Cooter Billy-Bob, my DH is a bit redneck and I am ok with that fact but not that name. So then he goes what about Jorge Jesus, I asked him which one of us was hispanic (we are both white as white can be).
So now he was thinking Bart as in Bart Simpson. I wish I could get him to take this a bit more seriously so heres hoping if I can't that its a girl.

One of my co-workers has a little boy named Theo - I think it's cute!
DH really likes Dante, always has. I think it would sound horrible with our last name and have nixed it. But, I like Beatrice, which he hates, so I told him we needed to get 2 dogs and name them Dante and Beatrice.

LMAO! DH also suggested that one! It went along with his other suggestions of Achilles and Maximillian.
My brand new nephew (who is due TODAY!) will be named Theo. I think that one is cute!
Just remember, you still have several months to come up with and agree on a name. We didn't decide Zachary's name until after he was born. We went into the hospital with a list of about five maybe-names, and decided that he was definitely a Zachary.
DH tells me he has a girl name all picked out but he won't tell me what it is unless we find out it's a girl. I am scared about that because:
#1, his grandmother died last year and he just loved her and while she was a darling woman, she had a HORRENDOUS name and I have a feeling he is wanting to name the baby after her
#2, I told him long ago I wanted to name a girl after my great grandmother, who practically raised my mom and had a beautiful name. Unfortunately I already told my mom I wanted to do this and she cried and is all excited and wants it to be a girl so bad now. DH didn't hate the name when I told him but he wasn't thrilled.
And neither one of us can find any boys names we like. The one name we liked does not go with our last name at all.
Since we met in Vail, Colorado, and spent a lot of time at the Red Lion (bar) the first weekend we met, my friends are teasing us that our firstborn should be Red Lion Trost if it's a boy (Trost is DH's last name).
Or, we could name it Montana if it's a girl (since that's where we went on our honeymoon)
BIO
One of my nieces is Montana, nn Tana. NMS at all but it fits her personality.

dh is stuck on dorothy for a girl...so we can call her DOT. I dont like it, too old fashioned for me.
Also he loves Ivan for a boy...but it makes me think of a guy i knew with one eye....weird.
My DD's name is Alaina and I love the nickname Lainey (even if we never call her that lol). Who knows, maybe you could sneak Alaina by him and then call her Lainey
Tiberius, Copernicus, etc. It goes on and on.
He's not really serious, but he talks about it all.the.time. Our last name is pretty bland, though, so he wants something "not boring" as he says.

My DH has suggested off the wall names too before we got pg. We will probably start thinking more into names in the 2nd tri.
DH's mom and sister on the other hand have already thrown some crazy names out. I tell them I will keep it in mind lol. yeah right. Luckily DH agrees with me on their crazy ideas.
DH likes Maximus for the same reason.
yes. Agnetha. Siobhan. Sinead. Agamemnon. Andromeda. Hildegarde. Henrietta. Harold. Thor. Igor.
Perhaps I'm fairly boring, and I'm sure these names will work for someone... but I think he's doing it for 2 reasons: 1) he wants me to come up with the perfect name for him to approve, and 2) the baby is just not quite real to him yet...
So far for a girl, DH is pretty insistent on Sophie, even thought we know TONS of people called Sophie.
FOr boys he throws out stuff like Homer, Xerxes, Zeus. I'm sure this is because the baby isn't really real to him yet. I think once I start showing he'll be more serious about names.
