Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Does this sound like teething to you?

-Extremely irritable and fussy unless distracted constantly.

-Wants to nurse all day, but refuses bottles or eats just a little out of them. Frequently gets very squirmy at the breast.

-Lots of drool/wanting to gnaw on her hands a lot.

-The past few days she went from only waking up once a night for 10-15 minutes to feed to waking up 2+ times and staying awake for hours at a time. She is very fussy during these times whereas before she would dreamfeed and drift back to sleep quickly.

-No fever or diarrhea (though I know those are debatable with teething), but she has been coughing/gagging and stuffy.

It sounds like teething to me, but she is still so young. I'm not sure if I should wait it out or go to the pedi.

  • DS is going through the same thing and i feel a ridge on his gums. I was about to post and ask about the non-stop nursing though, so i'm glad you mentioned it. I can't wait for this fvcking tooth to pop through.
  • they can start teething right now for sure.  however, they may not actually sprout a tooth for a few months. My LO has been teething since he was 3 1/2 months old...and still no teeth.  Some days are better than others, not every day is hard!
