I remember everyone telling me that everything gets easier and that you will not feel as nervous about things like colds, etc as you become more accustomed to being a parent.
Well-- DS is 14.5 months and I am dreading the next 3+ weeks as he is coming down with a cold. Each and every other time he has gotten a cold... (4 times last year) they last for 3-5 weeks and include an ear infection, multiple doctor's appointments, etc. I don't feel any less stressed or any more accustomed to it. I still worry and don't know when to take him in to the pedi, etc.
Maybe it gets better once they are 3 and can take over the counter cold meds and their ear canals are longer:) Or at least I can hope.
Re: I thought I was susposed to feel less stressed as LO got older...vent
When they can talk and tell you what is wrong it finally gets easier. I am especially fond of being told when they are about to barf, I prefer notice rather than just puking, lol.
Hang in there momma.
It gets easier, but it never gets easy.
I don't think it will ever be easy, but I like to channel my nervous energy into doing things that can help DS get better. When he starts to get sick I get vigilent about sterilizing toys, using Ear Oil to prevent infection and making sure he takes his supplements every day. Hope LO and mama feel better soon!
