Little scare with doorway jumper

LO was playing in his doorway jumper the other day while my father was watching him and I was just down the hall. LO wasn't fussing or anything but I saw my dad hurry over and say 'lets get you out of there' then he comes to me and asks if I heard him breathing ... well no, I was down the hall. Turns out Luke had got his hand stuck in the hole where his leg goes and so his throat was pressed against the rim of the seat/tray and he was struggling to breathe. The way his excersaucer and jumperoo are built it seems it could happen in any of them but I'd never even thought about it. It's even more scary to me because he couldn't fuss much if he wanted to - just another reason to pay special attention.

  • That is scary.. i am so glad your LO is ok. I will def. have to pay more attention when he is inthere. I usually put him in there when I am cooking since its in the kitchen doorway. THanks for the reminder though

  • This happened to DS but with the rope that holds it up- luckily I was on the floor playing with him.  The jumper was quickly returned and I got a jumperoo instead even though we don't really have to room for it.
  • scary!!! we just started putting DD in hers. and will definitely keep a close eye on her. thanks for the info!!

That's why those things scare me, among other reasons!  We have a jumperoo but I never leave the room when he's in it.

I'm glad your LO is ok!  Thanks for posting this!

Kim, your DS is absolutely precious!
