I read that you should "brush" their gums with a wash cloth until they get teeth, but I don't do this. DD still doesn't have any teeth. Anyone "brush" their teeth before they got any?
DD has a Little Mermaid electric toothbrush. She thinks it's so much fun that she begs us to brush her teeth. We do it probably 5 times a week ever since she was 6 months old. She has 16 teeth though, so it probably a little more crucial for us to really stay on top of toothbrushing.

I didn't start until she had a few, and I'm still not good at doing it regularly. In my defense (), DD started biting, hard. So I do it a few times each week.
She got her first teeth around 8 months old. I was really bad with brushing until the past few weeks. In my defense, she used to freak out and not let me do it until then . I do it for sure once a day, sometimes twice.

Re: When did you start brushing DC's teeth?
I started with a finger brush at 4mos I believe when she got her first tooth. I didn't do the washcloth thing before hand.
