i think it's funny that you provided a pronounciation for this name given the fact that 1) it's quite common and 2) your pronounciation is no different than the typical or common pronounciation...not trying to be mean or snarky, but this was just my first thought.
anyway, i like the name zoe. i think it's really cute!
I'm not a big fan of Zoe. I think it's cute for a little girl or teenager, but I have trouble picturing an adult woman (or an old woman!) with that name.
Also, I know at least 4 "old lady" (lol) Zoes. BUT I'm Greek and it's a fairly common Greek name, which is why. The Greek way is also to pronounce it with the emphasis on the E, although if we go with the name (if we have a girl), we'll do it the "American" way (although my family will probably use the E emphasis).

love the name, we can't use it because 1/2 our family's last name is Zois (pronounced Zoeees). They'd definitely make fun of her.

. You'd be surprised. I was complaining the other day because I saw an ad for that Rachel Zoe show and I hate how her last name is pronounced "zo." DH didn't believe me that that was the typical spelling for the first name "zo-ee." And, unfortunately, I don't think he's the only one!
Re: Thoughts on Zoe?
I like it, but my mom named her dog Zoey, which kind of ruined it for me...

I think of a little girl or a cat.
I can't see a 40 year old Zoe.

That's what I think our lil gir's name is gonna be!!
We are stuck on a middle name. I like Zoe Marie. My 9 yr old daughter her name is Ivy Marie.
I LOVE ZOE!
Love it and would use it except for 2 reasons:
1. Our last name begins w/a Z
2. an ex named his daughter Zoe
