I don't dye my hair regularly, but when I do it, I do it myself. But I do get my hair cut (which includes shampoo, cut, and styled) every 5-6 weeks, and it's $35 each time. It's my only high maintenance trait.
Every 6-8 weeks my very close friend (is a hair stylist) comes to my house and does mine and DHs and charges me just for product if she is coloring mine and $20-40 for her troubles, depending on what she does. I LOVE IT!
I go every 7 weeks for a haircut and partial highlight. It's $125 + tip. About every third time I spring for the full highlight, but that's $175 + tip. Ouchie.
if i was the high maintenance woman i was born to be (lol) I would go every 6 weeks, but I go when I can - I love to go but I hate to wait, I have no patience.
The last time I went was mid July and it cost me 160 for full foil highlights and a cut & blow out
Every 8 weeks - cut & highlight - around $80 a pop plus tip. (Which isn't bad considering I WAS paying close to 150 for the same service at another salon!)
I get my hair trimmed every 3-4 months (I know, I should do it more often) and I only spend $25 at the most. I don't color my hair or anything special.

Maybe twice a year for about $20 (local school). I dont color. I dont know what a blow-out is. You should ask about pedi/mani. I go even less for those. LOL
Re: how many times a year and how much do you spend...

4 times a year, if that. I go to greatcuts so it is cheap, around 14 bucks.
i am so fancy. DH and I go together. it's fun.
This (color & cut)--with cuts every 2mos at 40$
I do my own color. My haircut is a bit expensive ($45) but I only go 3 or 4 times a year.
If I go to something shorter, I won't be able to get away with going so long in between cuts.
