Babies: 0 - 3 Months

So...how do you count months?

Do you go by your Bump ticker....or the same date of each month?  I'm trying to figure out exactly when my LO will be "3 months"...my ticker says today he's 2 months & 4 weeks.....but I was thinking his monthly marker would be the 25th of every month, since he was born on 6/25.

How are you counting it?

Re: So...how do you count months?

  • It's the date, not every month has 4 weeks.  Your baby will be 3 months old on the 25th and that's the date that your ticker will reflect that.

ETA: Not every month has *just* 4 weeks.

  • The date of the month.

The day of the week for weeks.

Ryan's monthly birthday is the 17th.  His weekly birthday is on a Wednesday.

  • DS was born on June 1, so he'll be 4 months old on October 1.  Although if he's close I just round up (like if someone asks me on the 29th how old he is, I'll say 4 months).
  • I count it on the actual day.  Jacob is born on June 30th, so he'll be 3 months on the 30th of September.

Right now, I basically just say that he's two and a half months, or I say almost three months.

This. I count weeks and months differently

  • The date she was born.  My ticker reflects that right now - she was born on the 23rd and turned 2 months today, the 23rd.
  • I count by the date that he was born. I was confused about this too because yesterday my ticker said 3 months, 4 weeks and 2 days (or something like that). Today it says he's 4 months...He was born on May 23rd. I didn't understand where the additional days were going to fit.
  • The actual day. On the 25th, your Bump ticker will say 3 months so they are the same.
