Anyone know how it gives you "suggestions" to add as friends?  I usually do not even look over on that side when I'm on there, but just happened to and the "suggestion" is not a friend of any friend, I did not go to school with her or anything either.  No ties anywhere.  Yet, I DO know her and in fact recently ran into her at a little gym class. 

How did it know to "suggest" her as a friend?  I didn't even know her married name! 

Do you suppose it could suggest people who search for you?  Makes sense since you have to ge logged on to even use the site. 

hmmmm.. It has me perplexed how FB could possibly know that I know who this person is!

    was she in your list of contacts in your email account (gmail, hotmail?)
    I had the same thing happen and that's where it was from Smile

    nope Keren!

    We did exchange emails addy's at the little gym class and she e-mailed me once, and it may still be in my inbox somewhere but I have forgotten to e-mail her back.  But she is not in my contacts.

    I think people you have emailed can sort of end up in your contact list in hotmail and gmail.. even if they're not in your 'real' contact list.   Also, I have heard that if people search for you then you can get that suggestion.

    FB is a little creepy with the privacy stuff.  I try to just not think about it.

    It also suggests people with shared networks or who went to/worked at the same schools/employers.

    if she emailed you, then that is why it is popping up as a suggestion.  i have some old clients from a previous job that are my friends...i asked how did you find me...email...go figure.

    Ah -- I guess that explains why MIL was suggested to me to add as a friend even though we're not linked to anyone in common.  She only has 2 friends on there and I am not friends with either.

    It totally freaked me out but I'm happy to know why now!  Then again, I don't think I've actually emailed her, but DH has sent me emails from her....creepy.

    if she ever did a search for people in her email accounts then it would send the suggestion to her as well as you.   Thats how my crappy RE agent ended up in my suggestions, and then I ended up in his.  He added me as a friend and Ive been ignoring it for the past month...
