Pregnant after 35

Craving "regular" soda - is it just me?

So I should preface this by saying that I ALWAYS drink diet soda when not pregnant.  Haven't had a regular soda for years.  Years.  Did not have this issue with my son.  So anyway, one day I drank a regular Coke b/c the sugar/caffeine combo helped my bad headache.  Now I want one every day!
Am I alone or does anyone else have this?

  • Not with soda.... but my friend who had been a veg for over 10 years, started craving steak when she was pg. now she sometimes eats meat.

  • Mmmm, now I want a soda!  Curse my suggestible nature!

  • I am definitely craving soda and would drink it all day if I would let myself do it more than once a day.
  • I went through a phase where I craved regular Coke. I bought some of those little 8 oz cans and drank one every afternoon after lunch. I loved that little caffeine/sugar hit. I got over the urge for those now and really just want to go back to a big 20 oz Diet Coke every afternoon. 3 more months until I can fully indulge my love of caffeine.
  • Up until just a couple weeks ago, carbonated beverages is all I would dream about! I don't think I've really had any other cravings but fizzy drinks!
  • all I want, all the time, is Caffiene Free Not-Diet Coke... you can't just pick them up anywhere...

I bought a 12 pack a couple of weeks ago, and went through it way too fast for my comfort level...

but I think I have to buy another one today.

ETA: and I'm a never-drink-soda type... it's water and iced tea for me most of the time!

    I am the 99%.
  • I don't really drink soda except once in a blue moon but this last week RootBeer is all i can think about
  • I am only drinking regular soft drinks now and I have at least 1 a day because like you, the caffeine helps with terrible headaches I have.  My doctor actually prescribed me something for headaches that contains caffeine but it seems the tylenol along with a caffeinated soft drink does the trick.

  • Regular Coca Cola is the only thing that will settle my stomach these days. That one little glass in the morning does wonders for me!
