Can Newborns Sleep in Pack and Plays?

Hello.. I am a 3rd trimester... and I was wondering if for the first few months is it ok if the baby sleeps in a pack and play (in our bedroom)? I am not sure if it would be bad for the babys back? I also have a moses basket which I could put in the pack and play and let the baby sleep in? or is this a safety issue? I would love to buy a cosleeper and a bassinette (spelled wrong?) but money is pretty tight so I was just looking for your suggestions! thanks for any help

yes. DD has been in it since birth. She has never complained while in it. She sleeps well in it too.

Yes. Our DD slept in the bassinet part of the PNP for over 2 months.

My LO slept in PnP for the first 2 months and it worked great. No problems here.

Yep! DD still sleeps in hers right next to my side of the bed and has since she was born

We're moving her to her crib soon, but it has been nice to have her right there for middle of the night wakings.

I and everyone I know have their newborns sleep in them next to their beds.

My son still sleeps in it in our room, even though he has his crib.

I used my pack n play as a bassinet for the first 2 months. Then I just put her in her crib. But it was nice not to have to spend the money on a seperate bassinet when you don't use it very long.
