I go back to work in 2 weeks:( During the week she'll get bottles and I'll pump. So do I keep the same schedule on the weekends? I'm just thinking if I pump and she gets bottles during the day 5 days a week and then breastfeed on the weekends will that mess things up with the ta-tas and will Cora get confused too?
Re: Going back to work and pumping schedule question
I just nurse on demand on the weekends. Riley's never really had a problem with it-he does occasionally have a hard time with that first bottle on Monday morning but I think he is a bit more sensitive than most babies and he always figures it out after that first or second bottle of the week. It actually will be better for your supply to nurse as much as possible over the weekend, rather than pumping-LO should stimulate your production better than the pump would.
The whole pumping/bottles/work thing can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll get the hang of it!
ditto.
I have always pumped at the same time that DS is eating. That way on the weekends I have enough milk.
That being said, DS eats much less on the weekends than he does at school. I find it hard to keep up the exact same schedule because he naps longer at home, or we are out and about...however, I have found it to have little effect on my supply. Two days being somewhat "off" aren't enough to confuse the girls. And by girls I mean the ta-tas.
I do fine with that (nursing on weekends and vacations and pumping during the week for bottles at daycare). Early on I would pump after I nursed on weekends to get a little extra milk to cover the daycare supply, but now that he STTN my before-my-bedtime pumping is enough to keep me in the clear. Your boobs are smarter than you think, they figure these things out! ;-) Just try to pump at work when your LO eats. My guy gets a bottle every three hours at daycare, although at weekends he ends up nursing more on demand / "snacking", and often eats at the 2 1/2 hour mark, or both before and after naps, etc.
Ditto this!!! Although my DD still hates the bottle and I've been back almost 2 mo. She eats bare minimum at daycare and nurses more at night/weekends. It is so overwhelming going back, but once you have a routine down it does get much better. I've learned to let some things go during the week as I just don't have the time/energy. GL!!

My DS is the same way.
I pump 2 or 3 times per day. Ideally 3 times because he has 3 bottles.
Ditto all of this. I pump 4x per day. Once in the morning after her first feed, then 3x at work. I will only pump before bedtime if absolutely necessary, and that is rare.
