At my 31 week appt my dr said DD was breech but that it wasn't a big deal yet. Well, I'm now 35 weeks on Wed and no one has said anything about it since then. I know she is still breech only because I just checked myself at work with our U/S machine. My usual 37 week growth U/S is in two weeks and I guess that is when they will tell me what the next step is if she hasn't turned by then. My OB is so busy that until then I'm only scheduled to see the nurse practioner for the next two weeks until the U/S which kind of bothers me cause I have a lot of questions. I guess I just need to sit tight for two weeks and my questions will probably get answered then. What happens if at 37 weeks she is still breech? I don't really want to attempt the external version because of the risk it has on the baby so I guess they will schedule me for a c-section then???? I'm not sure really. Thanks for any info you can give me!!!

and don't do your own ultrasounds!
Ive looked at the web site before. It was confusing and not really what I was looking for. I mostly wanted to know what happens if you baby stays breech and how everything works, what the odds are they they will turn etc. It doesn't bother me really, as long as she's healthy Im not going to great lengths to try to turn her or anything.
This exactly. DS was breech - we tried a version at 37 weeks - fail. Scheduled c/s at 39 weeks as he hadn't turned.

I'd ask the nurse practitioner at your next appointment. If she can't answer the questions, she should bring them to your doctor's attention and get back to you. They're valid concerns.

I had a friend with a version that failed, but the natural stuff worked for her after the version attempt. She used a combination of chiropractics and moxibustion.
GL!
If our baby hasn't turned by 37 weeks, then we will be trying an external version. If that doesn't work, then it will be a scheduled c-section.........
My cousin is a chiropractor and says it takes him no more then 3 sessions to turn a breech baby using a natural method.
I am trying to find the video he sent me so I can link it to you. It does not look painful... it just looks like an adjustment session
And I noticed you were in Arlington... he's in Frisco so it's not too bad
hi!! i am in the same boat! i know people get c-sections everyday- i just didnt think i'd have one. i mean there are pros & cons to everything....but i guess the birthing classes/methods ive learned will all really go out the window!
versions sound scary and a little risky. i have my ultrasound tomorrwo night to make sure baby is def. breech....we shall see...
best of luck!!!
My baby was breech at 31 weeks also, and is now in launch position, head down (I'm 38 wks 3 days) thanks to chiropractic and some creative moves. The technique my doula told me to ask for from the chiropractor is the Webster technique, which doesn't hurt at all, its just an adjustment of your pelvis to make more room for baby to turn around. My doula also suggested trying being on your hands and knees for at least 20 minutes a day or get in a modified child's pose for 20 minutes a day with your butt up in the air so you don't squish your baby. I tried all of these things, they're painless and non-invasive. Something worked! I've heard good things about acupuncture too but didn't need to go that far. Best of luck to you!
