When i was just pumping for bottles I was fine, I'd pump 3 times and get 5 oz each.
Now he's eating cereal and that's throwing a wrench in my plans. I have to come up with an additional 4 oz each day. He eats it once at daycare and once before bed. I mix it with 2 oz of bmilk each time. (I have about 10 bags in the freezer so I have a cushion.)
I want to avoid pumping at home. But its hard to get that additional 4 oz each day.
How many oz do you have to pump total when you introduced cereal? Will we stop cereal at some point and I wouldn't have to worry about it? How many oz does your baby eat?
sorry so many q's.
Re: How many oz do you have to pump total per day?
I don't mix the cereal with breastmilk so I don't have to pump extra. I just use warm water.
That's funny as my little guy hated it with water and will only eat it with milk. I found i needed about 4 additional ounces a day, but I noticed he also wouldn't finish the bottle associated near the rice cereal feeding, so I started borrowing 1 tbsp at a time of the milk / bottle from that feeding (as I XP). That's worked out great as I was really stressing out not having more milk immediately.
