i really seemed to have packed it all on at once, which i am *sure* happens to a lot of us, but how much is too much, and has anyone been lectured by the doc for this? did it cause other probs?
Right around where you are I think I gained like 7 pounds in a month. Then when I went back the following month I think it was only like 4 pounds. It seems to be slowing down a bit. Everyone will tell you that it varies. But, for me I noticed that I am not eating as much as I was before simply because I am getting uncomfortable and the heartburn is HORRIBLE!
With my first pg, I gained 12 lbs in one month (in my defense, it was over Christmas and I just got over bad m/s). With this pg, I gained 6 lbs in one month. I haven't had any complications with either pg and my doctor wasn't concerned.
good to hear! I am now up a total of 16 pounds and I think the last appointment they said I was up 7. i go this week, so it looks like i gained 10 this month....
My Dr. told me there is a growth spurt (big weight gain) right around 20-22 weeks. I gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks right around there. She also said there is another one somewhere in the 30's (can't remember which weeks).
right around the time you are I gained 11lbs in one month! That was more than I had gained the rest of the pregnancy combined! The doc said it was no problem..and that a large gain was fairly normal right around then. The next month I only gained 2 lbs..and I didnt do anything differently.

I have gained like 7-8 lbs. in a month TWICE now and I'm still in a normal weight gain range and my doctor isn't concerned. She said she pays much closer attention to my blood pressure which is always great so not to worry. My weight gain has spurts and slows and I am always the same old cow
Between 19 and 23 weeks I gained 13 lbs!!! My doc said that so long as it was only that month and it didnt continue that its pretty normal to have a big jump around then and he wasnt worried! Sure enough I didnt gain a ton this past month and all is good.
Everyone gains differently. At my 32 wk appt I'd only gained a total of 8 lbs. Then at 34 weeks I'd gained another 7. And now at 39 wks I'm up a total of 23, but my last two appts I've been at the same weight. I asked the nurse about it and she said some people pack it on in the begining, some in the end, and some gain consistently throughout. I wouldn't worry about it if your Dr. isn't worried.

Re: how much weight gain is too much in a month?
I gained 7 lbs one month, and Dr was not concerned at all. I am still within the recommended range of weight gain.
If your Dr is not worried, then you shouldn't be. Don't stress about it.
I don't weigh myself at all, so I only find out at my appointments. I think it's good that way, no need to stress yourself out. GL.
