Apnea monitors

did anyone here's twins have to go home with them?  If so, how long were they on them?  My girls have had them since they came home, and I'm not sure how long they will need them.  They hardly ever go off, so I'm hoping not for long.

    Our boys came home with them on Jan 12 and we waved goodbye to them on May 25, so about 4 months.  The first month was tough they had pages of alarms, the second month was so much better that they got moved to nights/naps only.  By the third follow up they were great but the dr required 2 months of no alarms so they weren't released until the 4th follow up appt.  I tell you what, as much as I hated them, when they were gone i didn't sleep for a week.  LOL.   Anyway, HTH!

    We only had them on for a few weeks.  They were terrible for us.. Our babies were 4 lbs and they were constantly going off for false alarms.  

    I'm glad for you they are hardly ever going off.  I think your pedi has to sign off when you no longer use them anymore.  I would talk to them.  Our pedi wasn't a fan of having them for a long time.  They are stressful and she said if our babies were having serious breathing problems they should still be in the NICU which I sooo agree.  I didn't sleep at night because I was always running down the hall for false alarms.

    My daughter is on one now and also takes caffeine.  So far the only alarms are because her heart rate got too high or the lead was loose.  The neonatologist said she should outgrow her Brady episodes by what would have been 44 wks gestation.

    About me  2007: Started TTC. 2008: OB prescribed clomid, went to RE and was Dx with PCOS. 2009: IUI #1 w/follitsim and trigger = BFP. B/G Twins born at 33 weeks. 2012: TTC #3, Round 2 of Letrozole w/TI = BFP, missed m/c at 8 1/2 wks. Currently on the bench as we make plans for a new home. Anxious to start TTC #3 within the next year!
