A friend and I were talking and wondered what the average wedding costs today. With everything icluding what your parents or anyone else paid how much did your wedding cost??
Ours with everything included was about $35,000, that is all of what we paid and our parents paid.
Re: Out of curiosity, how much total did your wedding cost?
$6,000
We went super cheap and small so we could buy our dream house instead of having a super crazy huge dream "day".
We loved every second of it with no regrets!
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
~$13k, not including honeymoon, which came 11 months later.
I wish we'd spent less, but I can't really think of anything I would have cut that would have made a big dent in that.
Ours was about $18,000 including everything except the rings and the honeymoon.

Wedding: About $750 (includes rings, flowers for me, dress, and a new outfit for dh. We had no other expenses.)
Reception: $1500
Disclaimer- we did not have a "real" wedding. I actually really loathe weddings, so does dh (he used to work in the wedding industry.) We had a UU minister marry us on the grounds of a Tibetian Buddhist monastary on on Wednesday morning. No guests other than my cousin and his wife who took pictures and witnessed the marriage. Afterwards we ate lunch at a Chinese buffet and headed out of town for a week-long camping trip. We caled our families and told them about the marriage on the way, LOL. About a month later we had a very casual reception at a local art center.
Hmmm ... I think it was about 17k total. We had a destination wedding, so that amount included the planning trip down, rehearsal/welcome dinner, day of wedding and all related costs (dress, pics, priest, venue, etc etc), activities we paid for the guests (snorkeling and sunset cruise), wedding planner, and the honeymoon. In all honesty the honeymoon costs were about equal to that of the wedding.
Under $5,000, including a designer dress
I live in a low COL state and $5K can go a long way.
Around $25k
$30,000 split between my dad, inlaws, DH & I and my mom. Not including the honeymoon
us either (on both the no debt and the honeymoon) unless you count using my mil's timeshare on the Cape for a few days a honeymoon.
About 20K. We planned a honeymoon about 6 months after the wedding but I got pregnant 2 months after and we ended up canceling
I loved my wedding day, but looking back I wish we would have gone way smaller and saved more of that $ for a house.
$5k, give or take a few hundred. but in the end we made all the money back in cash gifts. woot!
we had the ceremony in my grandmother's backyard. and we had the reception at a fire hall that had been recently renovated, so it was really pretty and not all fire hall-y. lol
i also did all the?centerpieces, favors, programs, invitations, etc myself. that helped to keep costs down a lot.
ETA: H and I paid for everything. and our honeymoon was a gift from his parents. ?
25-30K, not including rings and honeymoon. We had to tone down the honeymoon because of wedding expenses.
My parents covered about 20K of it, we paid the rest.
Probably about 20k, without the honeymoon, but the honeymoon was not extravagent. My dad paid about 10k, which surprised the hell out of me.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
My parents gave us a $60,000 budget and I stayed within it.?
edit: that doesn't count honeymoon or rings
$25k range...
My wedding was in the Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge Mountains rather than in the DC metropolitan area. I'm sure it would have costed much more otherwise!
