Out of curiosity, how much total did your wedding cost?

A friend and I were talking and wondered what the average wedding costs today. With everything icluding what your parents or anyone else paid how much did your wedding cost??

Ours with everything included was about $35,000, that is all of what we paid and our parents paid.

  • $6,000

We went super cheap and small so we could buy our dream house instead of having a super crazy huge dream "day".

We loved every second of it with no regrets!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

  • Are you counting rehearsal dinners and  honeymoons? Or just the wedding? Without those, I think ours was $15,000. Paid by us.
  • We paid about $13-15K.  DH and I paid for almost everything, except for some little favor things my Mom bought and our cake that my Mom made.

  • Probably around $5,000-$6,000, not counting the honeymoon
  • ~$13k, not including honeymoon, which came 11 months later.

I wish we'd spent less, but I can't really think of anything I would have cut that would have made a big dent in that.

  • Ours was about $18,000 including everything except the rings and the honeymoon.

  • 27k, not including the rehersal dinner and honeymoon.   Would do it again in a minute!

  • our wedding was in vegas so that was cheap, but just our reception when we got back was about 20k. i dont know exactly. thats without honeymoons, dinners, etc.
  • $20K, half from us, half from my parents.  I wish we would have spent half as much and done a smaller wedding at a winery instead.  So many of the people that came we never talk to and it would have been nice to use the extra money on a down payment or nest egg.  Oh well!

  • about 35k (including honeymoon) the main expense was food/drinks but that was a priority for us. i diy most of the things for the wedding but it nickel and dimed us to death.

  • It was around $13k to $15k.  My parents paid for it and I did what I could to save money on everything.  It was a big wedding and it was really pretty too.  I was really proud of myself and my mom.  We worked really hard!
  • Wedding: About $750 (includes rings, flowers for me, dress, and a new outfit for dh. We had no other expenses.)

    Reception: $1500

Disclaimer- we did not have a "real" wedding. I actually really loathe weddings, so does dh (he used to work in the wedding industry.) We had a UU minister marry us on the grounds of a Tibetian Buddhist monastary on on Wednesday morning. No guests other than my cousin and his wife who took pictures and witnessed the marriage. Afterwards we ate lunch at a Chinese buffet and headed out of town for a week-long camping trip. We caled our families and told them about the marriage on the way, LOL. About a month later we had a very casual reception at a local art center.

  • Hmmm ... I think it was about 17k total.  We had a destination wedding, so that amount included the planning trip down, rehearsal/welcome dinner,  day of wedding and all related costs (dress, pics, priest, venue, etc etc), activities we paid for the guests (snorkeling and sunset cruise), wedding planner, and the honeymoon.  In all honesty the honeymoon costs were about equal to that of the wedding.

  • Around 24k not including the rehearsal (dunno how much that was, his parents covered it). That includes the honeymoon to Thailand...
  • 8,000k, but we only paid at cost prices.  It was "worth" 30,000k.  We had it at my Alma Mater which also happens to be where DH works in the dining department.  So we go the venue and rentals for free and the food (which was amazing) at cost.  We really lucked out.  It was a beautiful wedding.

  • Under $5,000, including a designer dress

I live in a low COL state and $5K can go a long way.

  • About $15,000 paid for by us, in cash. We didn't want to have any debt because of it, that's why we still haven't had a honeymoon.
  • ~$9k without the RD or honeymoon.
  • $17K ish without rings, RD, or honeymoon.
  • $30,000 split between my dad, inlaws, DH & I and my mom. Not including the honeymoon

  • Under $5k, not including the honeymoon.  I have no idea what the honeymoon cost b/c my dad paid for it.  We paid for everything else ourselves so I could probably give you a down to the penny total. lol

  • About 20K.  We planned a honeymoon about 6 months after the wedding but I got pregnant 2 months after and we ended up canceling :(

I loved my wedding day, but looking back I wish we would have gone way smaller and saved more of that $ for a house.

  • including dress, entertainment, etc.... somewhere around $70,000.
  • Probably close to $20,000 for my second wedding. I hate the admit that my first was way more, probably $65,000 (Dad had to invite everyone he ever met!)

  • Mmm...about 85k.
  • $5k, give or take a few hundred. but in the end we made all the money back in cash gifts. woot!

we had the ceremony in my grandmother's backyard. and we had the reception at a fire hall that had been recently renovated, so it was really pretty and not all fire hall-y. lol

i also did all the?centerpieces, favors, programs, invitations, etc myself. that helped to keep costs down a lot.

ETA: H and I paid for everything. and our honeymoon was a gift from his parents. ?

  • 25-30K, not including rings and honeymoon.  We had to tone down the honeymoon because of wedding expenses.

My parents covered about 20K of it, we paid the rest.

  • Including the honeymoon, it was just shy of $35k.  We already have a house, so I was ok spending that money.  We paid for about 75% ourselves and our parents paid the rest.  The day was perfect/exactly what I wanted...and I would do it over again in a second.
  • Probably $6,000 just for wedding.
  • Not inlcuding the honeymoon or rings about $25-30 k paid by us, my parents and DH's parents

  • Probably about 20k, without the honeymoon, but the honeymoon was not extravagent. My dad paid about 10k, which surprised the hell out of me.

  • About $20K for the wedding and reception, paid by us in cash. My mom bought my dress (about $800). Still no honeymoon.
  • Ours was about $75,000, including RD.  My parents contributed about $15,000 and we paid for the rest.

  • About $15k without the honeymoon. $20k with it. It was paid for entirely by our parents, who are very generous. We paid for about $500 in favors. We were thankful we were able to have such a nice wedding!

  • just the wedding/reception...my guess would be around $85 K give or take a little.
  • My parents gave us a $60,000 budget and I stayed within it.?

edit: that doesn't count honeymoon or rings

  • $25k range...

My wedding was in the Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge Mountains rather than in the DC metropolitan area. I'm sure it would have costed much more otherwise!
