Pregnant after a Loss

This baby is freaking me out

So I watch an infant in my home 3 days a week.  He is 5 months old, but very big and very strong.  He is nearly 20lbs and is able to push himself up and hold himself up on his tummy.  SIDS really isn't a significant worry at this point.  And as always, he sleeps on his back.

And yet I cannot stop watching him sleep.  His breathing seems uneven to me and I'm just sitting here by the PNP staring at him.  I know infants breathing is not always even, but he is making me nervous.

If I am this neurotic with an infant that I watch 30hrs a week, I can't imagine how crazy I will be when my LO gets here.

  • The first thing that came to my mind when I read your post was.  "That baby's parents should feel so lucky that they have someone so attentive and caring to take care of their baby"

  • LOL!  I know the feeling.  I'll be such a worrysome mama!!  I'll probably not sleep for the first week or so - just stay up staring at the baby making sure it's breathing and all.

Awwww thanks!  He's quite adorable and it's impossible not to love him.  My DH comes home every day on lunch to play with him.  It's too cute.

  • Sounds like you both are going to be amazing parents in a few weeks!  :)
