For those of you who made your own Moby Wrap ...

All of the pictures look like it's Jersey cotton. I know it has a bit of stretch to it and the recommendations say to use 100% cotton fabrics.

Just figured I'd see if any of you had any recommendations for which cotton knit to use over any others!  TIA. =)

  • I used a cream jersey knit and it has worked really well. However I am worried that as dd grows that the knit is too stretchy and thin.

  • I made my own with jersey knit and spend 20$ on the fabric.  then i got her into it and it was too stretchy. i ended up buying the real thing...

For stretchy wraps (Moby-style), pick a jersey knit or 95-97% cotton with 3-5% spandex (3 is probably better long-term).  Bamboo is great and only semi-stretchy, but it's hard to find.  You can use cotton gauze or shirting material for a non-stretchy wrap which is better as the baby gets heavier.

    Good to know. =)

All of the pictures make it look like it's Jersey knit cotton, but I wasn't sure if it was too stretchy or not.  Okay, back to the drawing board ...
