Re: Joseph's 6mo stats

  • My pedi pretty much said that she had to tell me, but that its not necessary if you take a multi-vitamin.

    I can't believe he's 6 months old already!!  Have fun w/solids!

  • G. was EBF'd and no vitamins here. Iron-fortified cereal is your friend, though. BF'd babies are at higher risk for Vitamin D and Iron deficiencies. A little sunlight and a LOT of that cereal goes a long way. :)

    Congrats on your healthy boy!

  • Jackson takes poly-vi-sol now.  the target brand for the moment.

He didn't take it until he was a little older, but that's just b/c he didn't like it and I didn't force it.  I was trying the tri-vi-sol with iron and that stuff reeks!  Like old, dirty pennies.  I didn't realize until later that they had a kind without the iron.  My doctor just said to give it for the Vitamin D.

Jackson has bow legs.  I don't think it's related, but I can't help but wonder if I'd have given him the Vitamin D earlier if it would have helped.  The mommy guilt never ends.  Anyway, my 2 cents is to give it even if it's not 100% necessary, it won't hurt (I don't think - correct me if I'm wrong).

hey, don't worry about the bow legs - apparently lots of little kids have them before age 2 and it corrects as they get bigger. :)
