What does lip sucking mean?

If it means anything at all.  Jilli started doing this the other day. It doesn't seem to be that she's hungry, and I'm fearing early teething since she's been a little grumpy the past few days. Or, maybe she just learned how to do it and thinks it's fun!

    I'm leaning with the pp and saying a self soothing thing maybe...

    i would think she'd be chewing and sucking on her hand for teeth.. at least that what my DS #1 and what DS #2 is doing right now..

    I'd at least put some vasaline or something on her lip while she's sleeping though, that way it might keep it from getting chapped do to the sucking..

    Both of my kids suck on their tongues.  I think it is just another way to self-soothe.
