I work for a company that runs Group Homes for adults with Mental Retardation. I am an assistant Case Manager. I get to do paper work and deal with client behaviors (aka...I get to go get beat up and restrain clients when the home staff is to chicken to deal with it). I LOVE IT!

Wow there are some cool jobs on here!! FI is a High School Theatre Teacher. I have my degree in Human Communications, but prior to LO I was working part time as an office grunt ("administrative assistant") and part time painting houses (restoration, faux finish work). I also am the Technical Director for FI's theatre-design and orchestrate the building and detail of sets. For the time being I am going to be a SAHM, but eventually will go back to work. I am thinking about Phlebotomy/Lab Work--NO more office for me ever!
We own an event planning & entertainment business; I am an event planner and he is a DJ. He also works part-time as LP director at Best Buy and I work VERY part-time (like once a month) at Bath & Body Works.
ETA: Most of the time, I SAH. Events are mostly on the weekends, so during the week I'm home with DS.
I'm a respiratory therapist in a large hospital and work in the NICU.
When DS was in the nicu at Children's hospital one of the therapists came to talk to us, later I found out DH was very nervous. He felt we were being interviewed to see if we were going to be able to take DS home. =( We wanted to bring him home soo badly. As soon as he was healthy enough. You have such a hard job, talking to people at their very most vulnerable of moments. I'm sure you've had to help some people through some very hard times. Is it going to be more difficult now that you have your own?

I felt the same way until I went back. Now I love love love it! It gives me a chance to miss him! I work full time, which is only 3 days a week, but 12 hour shifts. It gives me a chance to get out and do something for myself! Someday I'd like to switch to part time (2 days a week) so we'll see.

It is much harder! I thought I'd be ok, but when something goes wrong at work I have to call and check on M. It's so rewarding though, seeing them get better and getting to go home! That's the best feeling in the world, knowing you helped them get to that point! On the other hand, being around the babies all the time makes me want another baby, which we don't need right now Later, but not right now! We have our hands full.

Thanks...this gives me hope that I might survive. I have to work 5 days, but the hours aren't bad...and there's always next summer to look forward to I suppose. Part time would be ideal for me too, but right now it's just not an option for us. Maybe someday.
How do i describe my job? I'm a shipper/receiver, secretary and manager for a small security company. I would rather not disclose information about DH's job.
DH is a power plant engineer and he also has a second degree in computer forensics. There's no money in computers around here, so he went back to school for his current job.
I SAH, but do some photography on the side. Right now it's just mostly friends and family, but I'm working on starting up an actual business.
DH is a supervisor for UPS part time and a professional athlete; so if he has an event coming up he is also training/working out 5-6 days a week. I am a dental hygienist.
