I always liked Remington for either a boy or girl-- more for a boy though. Then I had a Remy in my class. Oh my.. what a piece of work. I wouldn't go there for a girl's name!! And as a fn not as a nn, it reminds me of cognac.

As a Red Sox fan all I can think about is the Rem Dog (Jerry Remy) and all the dogs in this area named after him!
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I think it's cute. But you should know that here in New England, former Red Sox player turned broadcaster Jerry Remy is INSANELY popular. He is a huge cult figure here and the "President" of Red Sox Nation. As there are a lot of Sox fans all over the country, I imagine you'll get a lot of Jerry Remy associations.
I personally think it's cute, but I like different names. Plus, I think your baby would make the name cute.
I have a cousin much younger than me, named Navy. At first I didn't care for the name very much, but the more I got to know it as a name for her, I loved it and I still do!!
It isn't Ava, Addison, Amelia, or any other super common name, which automaically puts it in my good graces. I am usually pretty picky with names, but I think this one is just darn cute!
It's uncommon enough that the people who know your daughter will start to think of it as girlish. That being said, I've known two people with the name - both boys.

The name is cute but I work in anesthesia and one of the very potent narcotics we used is called remi-fentanyl and we call it remi for short. So I guess your baby would share a name with booze and narcotics...haha.

Re: The name Remi
P.S. Your DD is sooooo cute!
I don't like it.
First, I am from Quebec and Remi is firmly a boy's name. The pronounciation by english speakers will also be wrong.
It is also the name of a cognac.
I think it is a different name and interesting, though nms. I have a co-work with this name, but she spells it Remmy.
My cat's name is Remy. And my cat is a male.
I think of it as a boy's name.
For a girl = nms.

I'm fine with it for a girl...is there a reason to spell it Remi instead of Remy? And would you pronounce it like the French, RAIM-EE?
Me too. But before her, I had only considered it a boy name. And a very french one, at that.
Ditto! love it
Remi is my grandfather's name...I've never thought of it for a girl but i LOVE the idea of it for a girl! Super cute!
