So sad..Dad has stage3 cancer

So during my dad's post op check up, they diagnosed him as having stage 3. I'm soooo scared and just confused. They said that more than likely he'll have to undergo chemo. Dad's 80 and I don't know if this is the best course of action. Please pray for us.

I'm sorry for your Dad Donna, I'll say a prayer.

I did want to let you know that my Step Mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer this spring and her Chemo/Radiation has gone pretty well. She has been told that she has a 50% chance of being cured and a 90% chance of going into remission...so hopefully your Dad's cancer will be similar.

I am so sorry to hear about that Donna. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. To give you some hope though, my aunt was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer 4 years ago and after chemo has been in remission for 2 years now.

I'm so sorry, Donna. This must be so discouraging for you all, and for your dad...wish I could speak from personal experience but I haven't got any (yet..) so not sure if it would be helpful or not. But I hope that his docs take all issues into consideration as they plan out his care, and that he handles chemo as best as he can, at his age. (((HUGS)))
