  My OB wrote me a script for Lexapro once DD was born because I had been taking Welbutrin during my pregnancy.  She suggested it was better to be on if I was going to nurse.  Then, within weeks, I decided to wean and FF DD so I stuck with the Welbutrin.   She said either would have been fine, but she preferred Lexapro out of all of them.  IDK.

  The current literature seems to show that Zoloft has the lowest detectable levels in BM (with many mothers showing no detectable levels); therefore, it's often recommended as the first medication choice for BFing mothers.  Other SSRIs (like Lexapro) haven't been evaluated as extensively in BFing moms as Zoloft, so it may well be equally safe - but just don't have the research to back it up

  I am on Zoloft. It's considered the safest while nursing.
