1. Will I need any form of id for him? A birth cert or SS card... or is it unnecessary?
2. If you've worn your LO in the Moby, have they allowed you to go through security w/o removing LO from it? There's no metal, so I don't know why not.
3. When taking off, I've heard it's necessary to nurse/feed your baby so their ears can pop naturally during suck/swallowing... True or False? Will sucking on a paci suffice?
Thanks!
Re: 3 Questions about Flying w/ LO
1. Bring something just incase... it depends on the airline. AA doesnt require but SW does require
2. Yes you have to take LO out so they can make sure your not bringing anything onthe plane that is under or in your moby... its stupid
3. I fed my LO going up but did nothin going down. He was perfectly fine. I think a pacifier would be fine but my pedi told me that the swallowing is what uncloggs the ears so I fed instead of paci

Things I did different with this pregnancy:
1. Waited TTC until after I had 3 normal menstrual cycles.
2. Got a new OB - amazing man who listened!
3. 200 mg progesterone until 12 weeks
4. Daily lovenox injections
1. Varies by airline - I didn't need anything on Delta.
2. I was not asked to remove him from my wrap (and I asked if I needed to). It is apparently an FAA regulation that babies can't be worn during take off and landing; however, the FA only said something to me on one of four flights and never came back to check.
3. It's the sucking - nursing, bottle, or paci will all work.

I flew w/DS at 10 weeks old. I didn't need any ID for him - just called the airline ahead of time and they created a boarding pass for him. I wore him in the Baby K'Tan and never had to remove him, but I've heard that's not always the case. In addition to security you may be asked to remove him during takeoff and landing. (Ridiculous in my opinion - thankfully I didn't have to.) And my DS wasn't nursing for either takeoff or landing (sleeping during both) and he was just fine. A flight attendant told me that if he was crying that would help the ear popping issues too.
Good luck!

1) I had to have ID 2 times (out of 7 or 8). I was told that if the baby was a lap baby (not in a purchased seat), that I should be prepared to verify that he/she was under 2 (even if they were clearly an infant).
2) I had to remove baby and sling/carriers (various ones) every time but one.
3) The act of sucking helps since it encourages more frequent swallows, but it's actually the swallow that opens the eustacian tube which helps equalize the pressure. I'd be prepared to feed if possible, but a paci will help.
