2nd Trimester

How much did your baby weigh at your big U/S?

and how far along were you?

I was 19 weeks, 2 days.  The baby weighed 11 oz.  I was measuring 19 weeks, 4 days according to the ultrasound so right on track basically.  Also, they said our baby was in the 40-60% for this time frame.  According to What to Expect when you are Expecting and Babycenter.com, at 19 weeks the baby should be 8 oz.  So, I'm confused.....how was I right on track according to the dr. and in the average range percentile but a little ahead weight-wise according to these other resources.

Just curious, what was your baby and how far along were you?  Thanks!

  • I was 19 weeks 1 day, and measured at 19 weeks 5 days, and the baby weighed 11 oz, too! Really 8 oz is probably an average, and 11 oz that far off.

  • lol mine was 15oz at and I was measuring 21w1d

But I'm pretty sure later on in u/s they say they can be up to 2 lbs off. But that is toward the end , I'm not sure what the range is around 20 weeks.

No didn't seem that far off, but 11 oz wasn't until 21 weeks in the book I think.  It appears that everyone on here was around the same so far, so seems pretty normal to me!

  • Exactly 1lb, but I was 22 weeks.

  • I'm so glad you asked this question! Our baby weighed 10 oz at 19 weeks.  I keep reading about how baby is about 9 oz now - 2.5 weeks later - and I have been a bit panicked and mentally preparing myself for a massively huge baby at birth.  I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with a bigger than "average" baby at this point.

  • I was 19weeks and 3 days and he was 10 oz The dr told me that was in the fifty percentile
  • 20 weeks...he weighed 14 oz
  • I believe ours weighed in just under 12 oz. I didn't know if this was big or small but now it sounds kinda big!
  • My LO was 11 oz at 19w1d... so we're near where you are...

  • Hmm, they didn't mention weight - anyone else not get that info?
  • I had my u/s at 20 weeks exactly. She measured 20 weeks exactly and was 12oz... so you sound right on track!

  • Our baby was measuring at 12 ounces by 20 and a half weeks.
  • Very interesting-thanks everyone!!!  This makes me feel a lot more normal. I guess that's why the dr's always say don't read that stuff or look online!  Haha!  Sounds like we are all right on track to have healthy happy babies!
  • My little one was 15oz. at 21weeks and 4 days

  • Mine was 14 oz at 20 weeks- my books say it should have been 9 oz that week. I'm hoping the u/s was just off. DH and I are both small and were small babies so I can't imagine my child will be large.
  • 18 weeks, and he was 8 ounces

  • I didn't get to have my big U/S till I was 24 weeks.  L/O was 1lb 4oz which they said was right in the middle of what is normal for how far along I was.
  • Mine was at 18w5d and each baby weighed 10 oz. The average for twins at the gestational age is 7.5 oz, so my peri was really happy.
