What size to buy?

So I'm going to order some onsies off the kohls website since they're priced pretty good right now. Should I buy newborn or 0-3 mo? My concern right now is for when the baby is born, would I be better off doing the 0-3 instead of the newborn?

    I had what some would consider a "larger" baby (8.5 pounds at birth, 7lb13oz at homecoming, 90th%ile for length) and she fit into NB stuff for quite a while. In fact, at 2.5 months, she's still in 0-3 and most of it is on the big side.

    Now, every baby's build is different, but she wouldn't have had anything to wear without the NB stuff. My take on it is that it's not too expensive to get a couple packs of cheapo onesies to hold you over those first couple of weeks.

    I would agree with Lauren.  Haley was less than 7 lbs when we took her home and the NB stuff swam on her.  Actually, in the Gerber stuff that runs ridiculously small, even the NB size was a little big.  If you're buying for those first few weeks to a month, I would definitely buy NB size.

    If they are Carters I'd get a pack of newborn and more of the bigger sizes, 2 each.  If they are Gerber I skipped newborn and 0-3 all together.  L was 9 lbs at birth loosing about a half lb before going back up.  I think I used two 0-3 Gerber onesies because they shrank so much.

    Like Lauren, my baby was on the bigger side at birth 8.6 and he is still wearing all of his 0-3 month stuff.  We just put a 3-6 month onesie on him on Saturday and it was huge.  He wore NB for about 2.5 months.  The 0-3 month stuff was huge and we didn't have much NB size stuff, so we had to go out and buy it. 

    Unless you already have a ton of NB stuff, I'd go for that size first.

    ok, thanks for the feedback. I noticed when I washed some clothes over the weekend that the gerber shrank up a lot! I will go ahead and order NB and 0-3 mo. Thank you.

    Yep, Gerber stuff shrinks like a mutha but is really stretchy! Ella wore her 0-3 Gerber stuff until about 2 weeks ago.

    People went crazy in buying NB onesies for us, and there must have been 2 or so packs he didn't even wear.

    Also we got a ton of newborn gifts...we have a 6 pack of newborn onesies we didn't even open AND I took a ton of stuff back.
