I'm so unprepared for this baby!
We were at Target together today and she was asking me about what I do and do not have.
I told her all we have is the few outfits I've shown her. NOTHING else. She was SHOCKED. I'm a very "prepared" and planned kind of person...but I haven't bought ANYTHING. She wound up buying me some breast pads, some nipple cream (I guess), receiving blankets and a bunch of baby clothes.
It's not that we can't afford this stuff or anything....just that I don't really know what I need and haven't had any showers yet so I was waiting until after them. (They are both this coming week)
NOW I feel totally freaked out and unprepared...I was fine before my mom freaked me out!
Re: my mom scared me!
Honestly, it's nice to have a little of everything for starters... but once the LO is here, you will find out what you need and then go and get it.
For instance, we needed lots more newborn onesies, so we bought a few packs that first week. We also needed more burp cloths, so we got those. We have way too many blankets though...
So, really, don't be paranoid. It will all fall together, promise.
I think waiting till after your shower is a great idea. I wish I had when it came to the clothes I bought. Most of my family lives near the carters store and they will end up going there and buying most of what I bought like half the store! HAHA So I wouldn't feel like a freak or anything most people do wait until there showers to see what they need.
My shower is tomorrow for my moms side of the family because my sister wanted to make sure I was able to shop more between showers. My SIL's are having one for me at the end of Oct. So between now and then I can go have fun and buy a few things off my registry if I want
